Salsa's Flat
The home above Purple Wafer is a small three room arrangement. From the entrance one is right in the kitchen, a sickly green color about it as part of the chosen color scheme. There is trash littered about somewhat and very little counter space. The stove is pretty small, but still works well, as is the refridgerator. There is also a, yes, small, dining table with two chairs tucked neatly under despite the relative chaos of the kitchen.
There is an open doorway into the bedroom just behind the kitchen table. One would have to squeeze a bit to get around the bed upon entering, which is rather unkempt and messy, some of the bedding adangle over the ugly tannish sofa in front of a somewhat attractive mahogany chest of drawers filled haphazardly with bedding, ingredients for sauces, rocks, and gems. On top of the chest is a lot of expired business mail, opened and scattered about with marked corrections having been made by the insane mare who lives here, as if in attempt to bend reality to her will. The crackling fireplace is mercifully clear of fire hazards, and provides good light and warmth for this home. In the corner, if one looks carefully, is a lawn gnome with its head broken off. Nopony knows where the head is.
Salsa is back in action after being ill and nearly losing her freedom *again.* Today's special: Truffle mustard! An experiment in revolutionary new sauce technnology *exclusively* from the Purple Wafer. That's right. Revolutionary. Sauce. Exclusive. Wafer. Gnomes. Sandwich. Tuesday. Pinkie Pie. Fourteen. Yes. Salsa is standing right at the counter with her business face on, ready to take the world on by storm.

A surprisingly large-looking group of assorted fillies and colts, looking rather posh, from the look of them, come into view through the windows of Purple Wafer. One pony stops, gestures towards Salsa's shop, and then the whole group turns and starts towards the front door, all chatting amongst themselves. About five seconds before they reach the door, however, a soft, croaking call of, "Salsa...?" sounds from upstairs.
Salsa Verde was just about ready to get selling when she hears Sky calling down to her, and less than two seconds away from the ponies reaching the door Salsa flips the sign to say 'Sorry, we're closed.' And she's already charging her way up the stairs to her flat to see Sky and make sure she has everything she needs.
The younger filly is wrapped up tightly in her duvet, looking slightly flu-ish herself, eyes scrunched up as she vainly struggles about in the bed, her ears splayed back, stressed whimpers coming from her. "Don't take me home... ah want t'stay... please don't hurt me, momma... ah wanna stay... Salsa..."

Just half a head taller than most fillies her age, Sky Blue is otherwise quite unremarkable for an Earth Pony, being of a fairly standard build and possessing a brilliant sky blue coat, no doubt the source of her name. Her mane, an incredibly short affair that doesn't so much resemble a proper manecut as an incredibly poor attempt at one, consists of sunset gold hair, the same colour as her eyes. Her tail, the same colour as her mane, is pretty much just left to hang as it is, just several inches in length, without any sort of attempt to neaten it up. Dirty white casts encase both of her hindlegs, while her forelegs are clear of any similar baggage. Positioned upon her flank is a simplistic Cutie Mark that appears to represent the Sun, without any further embelishments.

Salsa noses Sky generously and realizes she is still asleep and sighs with an unhappy frown. She is at least glad Sky wasn't taken away from her. She does her best to try and tuck Sky under some covers and go back downstairs to try and sell her new sauce once more.
The large crowd of posh ponies have completely vanished, by the time Salsa returns downstairs. Not a single customer enters for the next half an hour, with only one eldery pony approaching, before looking into the window, seemingly realising it isn't the shop he's intending on, and turns away.
Salsa sighs despondently and leans against her counter, head on hooves, staring out the window. What happened to the crowd? Are they not interested in her new sauce. This seems to make Salsa more upset. She finally runs over to the front door, flings open the door and shouts out. "DO THE COMINGS OF THE IN HERENESS FOR THE SAUCINGS OF THE LIFETIMENESS! OF THE NEWNESS! OF THE NEWNESS!"
It turns out the posh crowd is only a few stall away, and, as a few of them turn back towards Purple Wafer at Salsa's proclamation and start to murmur between themselves, looking somewhat interested, a panicked shriek sounds from the floor above the main shop.
Salsa blinks, then bolts back into her shop and closes it again and rushes up the stairs to see what is going on with Sky.
Sky Blue is currently tangled up in the bedsheets, from head to hoof, and is frantically struggling to try and free herself as she exclaims, "Let me go! Ah hate ya'll! Ya'll have no right! Ah want Salsa! AH WANT SALSA!"
"THERE IS A SALSANESS! THERE IS A SALSANESS!" Salsa says in a panic and tries to get Sky untangled from her bedding to save her. This is definitely a little stressful. A lot stressful. Oh, Celestia, why is Sky in such a panic?!
Once Sky's head and torso are free of the sheets, she is revealed to be in tears, her eyes wide, ears splayed back. Then, without any further ado, she throws her forelegs about Salsa and hugs her as tight as possible. "Oh, Salsa, ah'm so glad t'see ya'll!" she informs the other female, sniffing away tears. "Ah thought momma and daddy had tied me up and put me in a sack t'get me home! Ah thought ah'd never see ya'll again... What... what happened?"
Salsa climbs on the bed to give Sky a close, comforting hug and speaks quietly. "They did the hurtings of the youness, and the everyponynesses did the helpings and the stopping of the themness. There was much of the scaredness for the meings."
"Ah was really scared, too..." Sky Blue replies softly, her eyes looking slightly red as she blinks, then lowers them down slightly. "Just... the thought of never seein' ya'll again... was so much worse than the thought of bein' stuck back at the ranch," she confesses, looking as if she's having trouble trying to get her words out.
Salsa gently sits on her bed across from Sky, a bit bashfully perhaps. "When they did the hurtings of the youness..." Salsa starts, then seems to pause in an attempt to think. This is the real trouble. Her mind is not really suited for rational thought. Not really. Not ever. She's insane. "I am not of the sureness of what is the sayings."
Sky Blue sits up slightly in the covers and looks up at the saucepony, gazing fondly at her. "Salsa, ya'll're mah whole world. There ain't nothin' ah'd do fer you. Ah... ah've always obeyed mah parents," the first time she's not referred to them as 'momma and daddy', "But... when they called ya'll that... word... ah couldn't stand it. No-one is allowed t'talk about mah Salsa like that. Not even mah parents."
Those words bouce around in Salsa's head. Even in her confused, insane state, those words carry meaning. "My Salsa." Yes. That was definitely what she heard. And what Salsa had shouted. In such clarity. "Nopony hurts the mare that I love." She shouted that. She feels her heart welling up. And it takes a moment for the sauce mare to think on this. She loves Sky. And... she heard what Sky said. "The... the Skyness..."
"Ah love ya'll, Salsa Verde," the cyan filly informs the saucemare, her eyes start to shimmer with tears, as she reaches out and gently places her forehooves upon the older mare's. "And there ain't anypony ah'd rather be with or anythin' ah'd rather have than be with ya'll, fer the rest of mah life."
Salsa feels tears come to her eyes, and she soon pounces Sky, wrapping her hooves around her and hugging her tight. The sauce mare squeezes her eyes closed and sniffles. "There was... there was much angerings and ragings. When they did the hurting of the youness." Salsa finally opens her eyes. "It was of the thenness I did the learnings of the meness. I am of the lovings of the youness... Skyings of the Blueness."
Sky Blue hugs back her best friend as tight as possible, her eyes closed blissfully as she tucks her head over the larger mare's shoulder, returning the hug with gentle vigour. "It means so much t'me t'hear ya'll say that, Salsy," she informs the older filly, one forehoof gently brushing up and down her front's upper back. "Ya'll've been so kind to me... even though we had a real rocky start... and... ah just... ah love ya'll, sugarcube."
Salsa relaxes and rests atop Sky for a little while. She is so happy to have gotten this off her chest. And to learn that Sky loves her too! "I am doing the thinkings that you do the needness of the restings. You were foundness upon the hurtings."
But Sky Blue has already fallen asleep in Salsa's embrace, her breathing gentle and steady, a content smile upon her face. Despite all of her injuries, the cyan filly is at peace with the world.
