(Warning: Violence and Illusionary torture)
Cloudsdale seems to be somewhat warm today, much to the surprise to Marble. Cloudsdale has a tendency to be cool for about... 3 and a half out of the four seasons. He has often come to the conclusion pegasi race so much just to warm up. But here he is, it's barely even midday at the Cloudsdale market and he's actually wanting some bottled water more than coffee. An unusual thing for him.
Bottled water? Sure! It's Vinyl Scratch who magically levitates the beverage out of her saddlebag and gives it cheerfully to her fiance. "You okay there, honey?" she says sweetly, trotting alongside the bureaucrat. Her troubles don't seem that great today - but that's about to change.
Marble gratefully takes the bottled water and beams to his fiance. "Oh. I'm fine, just... seems unseasonably warm up here in Cloudsdale." Marble says, unscrewing the cap and starts to drink the water down.
Glamour will certainly see to that. She is currently in Cloudsdale herself, scouting some potential talent to sign. But she has the fortune to happen to spot the couple across the way, and she did make Mixtape a promise. Well there is no time like the present, she smiles and casts a spell just as the stallion begins to drink. He's hot? Well, perhaps not quite as hot after she chills the water in his throat, turning it into a small block of ice...yes, she is attempting to coke off his oxygen supply.
"Yeah, but hey. It's sunny, I'm not complaining." says the DJ, stopping to let her fiance drink. Seeing a flash pf magic from somewhere, she peers around curiously. "Oh hey, sweetie, seems there's another unicorn in to-Marble? Marble!"
Marble has begun to cough and flail wildly, his face turning red, then purple, as the cold block of frozen water shoves out any air in his windpipe. It only gets worse, and soon the poor bureaucrat collapses on the floor, heaving.
FLASH! The DJ's own magic comes into life as she immediately melts the ice, her eyes full of panicked tears as she tries to revive her love.
Glamour smiles wickedly as she slowly saunters across the road, a snide expression curling her lip, "Oh no...has the poor stallion cooled off too much? How terrible. Well at least he will not have to worry about the heat any longer. But then, I suppose breathing may be more vital then staying cool." She quips and brushes a hoof through her mane flippantly. Clearly not caring that she had just nearly injured another pony.
Wiping the tears from her eyes, Vinyl helps Marble up, but does not face her opponent. "Glamour, I should have known." she says coolly, still not facing her rival. "I'm glad you came. I was beginning to get worried that you'd... chickened out."
Marble takes a few moments to catch his breath, before leaning on his fiance for support. He begins to quake at the sight of Glamour. "Y... y-you'll not get away... w-with th-this..." he says, though fear is evident in his tone.
Glamour blinks in mock surprise at the replies she gets, then slowly her smirk returns, "Oh really now? I'm going to get away with everything my sweet. And you both know very well that you brought this all on yourselves. Poor Mixtape was so heart broken when she came to me, so in need of somepony she could actually depend on. I was there for her, I provided the much needed shoulder to cry upon, the pony she could lean on. She told me everything that her so called friends had done to her...it was so heart rendingly tragic. How could I refuse when she asked me to make those bad ponies who hurt her so deeply "go away"? Tsk...and what luck, I should happen upon you both at the same time. I do hope your insurance is paid up. Because you'll be needing it after I am through with you." She lifts one eyebrow with a frown still cutting deeper with her words, "And you have the gall to act as if I am the bad pony here?"
"Yeah, I wronged Mixie," admits Vinyl, "but she's playing with fire here. As are you. You see, I'm not all bad. Of course, romantic affairs cause us trouble, but sometimes a pony takes it one too far, and Mix has no idea what she's done. Once I've finished you, I'm coming for her. Because, Glam..." The DJ whips around and steps forward, charging her horn. "Little girls who play with fire end up getting..." she blasts a powerful surge of magic at her opponent, "Burned."
Marble is now cowering behind the DJ, his heart racing. At the sight of the magical bullet, he squeals and clings onto the mare in front of him. He was a bad feeling about this. "O... o-oh dear."
Glamour listens to all this with a very cold, very calculating expression on her face. When the magical bolt is fired at her a look of panic sweeps across her face and she rises onto her hind hooves, flailing at the air with her forehooves, "Oh! Oh my goodness!" Then she smirks again just before the bolt passes harmlessly through her and smashes a could built vendor stall to puffs of wispy nothingness, "Stupid little filly, did you think I'd actually stand in front of you? I think I've mentioned before to both you and Mixtape that I am a specialist in illusion magic. Now Mix and I have put our differences aside. I'm sure she will be most happy to hear that you mean to settle things with her directly. Sadly you won't have that chance. Because I am going to take care of you myself!" It was true Glamour was nearly unparalleled in illusion magic, but she did know how to fight too. after all these years of battling with Red velvet she should at least be passable in magical combat. But using the element of surprise she doesn't start out with her spells, she instead tackles Vinyl Scratch from the side while the other mare is distracted by her false Glamour who spoke to her.
Vinyl_Scratch glares at Glamour for all she is worth while she dodges her first move. She is unprepared for the illusion to be shattered when the real mare tackles her, and she is pulled to the ground. Struggling, she physically attacks Glamour; punching and kicking with all her might to try and stop her, defeat her in any way. But she is in little condition to do so, and she decides to use a few spells she picked up from the Magic Research Center. First, she uses a basic force-field between them, pulling the two apart so she can recover. When standing, she uses her magic to send a lightning bolt from a nearby cloud right towards Glamour from behind, so she doesn't see it coming.
Marble stands up a little taller and slowly flutters up a few feet into the air. He has to do something, or his precious Vinyl might hurt herself, or the foal he only knew was within her. He swoops down, only to lose pace halfway and come crashing onto the soft cloud path in front of the mares. He's not really built for this...
Glamour grimaces as the fight becomes purely physical for a few moments, her own hooves swinging away at the other mare with abandon. Hissing a few very unlady-like curses at her foe, the moment Vinyl begins to bring magic back into play Glamour's own horn lights up and she presses back against Pon-3's field with her own. This luckily barely manages to protect her from the lightening bolt, her shield pops like a fragile soap bubble and the slightly scorched mare slides across the surface of the cloud floor looking pained. It's not enough to keep her down however, and coming face to face with the stallion she grins with a cruel sneer at him. "Someone you care about is suffering..." She intones as he lets loose a new spell, one designed to torture the mind. It reached into Marble's mind and found his most beloved ponies, then forcing him to view images and scenes of them being tortured, in pain, afraid, alone, even dying. Even as she made the stallion see all of this she kept an eye on the mare, not wanting to be taken by surprise.
"Dad!" comes a voice from somewhere. A young voice, full of pain and terror. "Daddy! Please help me!" It filters into Marble Memory's mind, and his stomach drops, his heart clenches, and his head whirls. It can't be! But it is, it's her, and she's screaming. "Daddy! PLEASE! The bad ponies are coming! AGH! Help! Help, Dad, it hurts, it hurts so much!" He can see her now, too. She is tied up somewhere, her perfect young face a mess with blood and bruises. Underneath her wounds he can still see a blend of both his and his fiance's features, and she is beautiful. Just like her mother. But her face is screwed up in pain. A gash drips blood down her forehead, and her eyes are brimming and spilling with tears. She is thin, unfed, and her body is covered in cuts. She bleeds, bleeds, bleeds, and it's that same blood red the stallion saw in Mixtape's eyes. 'I won't shed a tear...'
The same voice infiltrates the head of Vinyl Scratch. "Mom? Are you there? Don't leave me! Why aren't you helping me? You're standing right there, Mommy! Do something!" Vinyl screams, closing her eyes, but the image refuses to fade. "Memoire!" she cries. "Memoire Musique!" the same of her unborn foal echoes through the skies. She lets out another long, powerful scream, before throwing herself at her opponent and digging magical sparks into the mare's skin.
Glamour smiles and slowly stands, walking around Marble as the tortured stallion is fed image after image, scene after scene of his unborn daughter being tortured and mutilated. "My...My...sorry now aren't we?" She starts to turn to regard Vinyl as well, her horn still glowing as she sustains the spell, " Perhaps you should have thought of what could happen befo-HRK!" She is abruptly cut off mid-sentence as the enraged mare collides with her, she wraps her hooves around the DJ and rolls, trying to put out the sparks burning into her skin while not letting Vinyl get enough distance to begin pummeling her with hooves. Her own magic is brought to bear as she tries to intensify the mental anguish both her enemies feel. All while looking for a chance to break away.
Marble often does a lot of things. He often screams. He often flails. He often causes oddly placed catastrophes in the middle of town... but one thing he doesn't do often is cry. But he is crying now, and it is not just crocodile tears. He is bend double, sobbing, shaking with sheer *agony* as his darling daughter screams at him to make it stop, make it stop. He repeats her words himself through his anguished tears, crying to Glamour with all his emotional strength. "Make it stop! M-make it.. s-stooop..." His heart aches, but not because of his previous coronary attacks. This time, his heart is breaking for real. His soul is breaking. His spirit is breaking.
Vinyl is beyond tears and over the other side, too intent on DESTROYING the mare causing her this pain to shed a tear. Powerful surges of magic are all she has, and she uses them fearlessly on her opponent as she gains a little physical strength to flip and pin Glam to the ground. "I hate you, I hate you!" she screams, her magic intensifying with every thought of her daughter's suffering that passes her mind. The real Memoire kicks furiously in her stomach, as if she has somehow caught wind of the battle.
Glamour winces as Vinyl's magic explodes all around her, she responds in kind, her own magic crackling dangerously as she returns the attacks. Her horn glowing brightly as she pushes at the other mare with all the muscle and magic she has, attempting to roll them and take the upper hoof again. The combat has grown insane and the crowd that had at first encircled the fighting ponies scatters as magic discharges wildly in all directions. This is Cloudsdale...not many residents have ever seen a serious magic fight between unicorns.
Vinyl_Scratch keeps fighting, though the magic burns and stings across her body. The only way to break the torturous spell is to keep fighting - and she realizes this as the horrid, sickening images of Memoire flicker just a little bit. Glamour is getting weaker, she can sense it... but so is she. The DJ's breathing comes in rapid gasps now, in order for her to take in as much air as possible, as she fights harder than any unicorn she has seen before. She needs to keep it up, or she will lose her life. This is it, Vinyl. The final showdown, and everything, *everything* is at steak.
Glamour screams in pain as the combined magic scorches across her body. Oh yes, its incredible how savagely the mares now attempt to destroy one another. She can feel herself weakening and as the brutal fighting continues she does have to release the mind-torture spell. As her strength wanes she makes a last ditch effort to free herself from Vinyl's clutches by swinging her body to the left in an attempt to break away, both from the physical pin and the magical entanglement she finds herself in with Vinyl Scratch. "Y-You! I-I'll tear you apart!"
Vinyl_Scratch screams as well, both in pain and in sheer anger and hatred towards the pony she fights. She is thrown off-guard when Glamour swings to the side, and she topples over, landing face-down in the cloud. She can't go on any more. She can't fight. Memoire still screams in her mind, but her voice is drowned out by...
"Vinyl! You can do it, darling, I promise you can! Please, for us! For her!" Marble has wiped his tears, and, unable to fight, he has decided to stand by his fiance and scream support to her, and *boy* does he scream. "YOU CAN DO IT!" Those of Vinyl's fans in the crowd begin piling atop one another in order to see better, shouting. "VINYL SCRATCH! VINYL SCRATCH! VINYL SCRATCH!"
Glamour slowly gets to her hooves, her face a mask of fury and covered with magical burns and cuts. Her legs tremble as she begins to slowly stalk towards the other mare. Her opponent downed as she limps towards her, barely able to muster enough energy to walk, and completely unable to cast spells now she hisses, "I'm going to finish this you little trollop. Even without my magic, I'll use my bare hooves if I have too!" It seems Glamour although a fabulous agent is not above climbing atop another pony and trying to strangle them...because that is what she has in mind to do as she grows closer to the downed DJ.
Marble has to do something now. If he doesn't, his bride will surely be killed, along with his daughter, and him next... He shakes and trembles, but he forces his muscles into action. No. He can't let this happen.
But it's Vinyl who makes the next move, and she looks up to lock eyes with Marble. She gestures towards Glamour, then makes a motion with her hooves. Push her towards me. Marble himself blinks. Why is his beloved doing this? Is she willing to *quicken* her own fate? But when Vinyl mouths, "Trust me." Marble knows what he must do. He flies subtly up from the crowd, then back down behind Glamour, where she can't see him. Poking his hooves from behind a cloud, he gives her the biggest shove he can - just enough for Vinyl to connect her horn with Glamour's hooves, and break the oh so precious spell keeping her in Cloudsdale...
Glamour is not expecting the shove from behind, largely having written off the stallion. Once she has dealt with the DJ the clerk would be easy pickings. It was her misfortune that the couple were so well able to communicate, even in the middle of such a terrible brawl. She is knocked forward, and staggers a moment, it is at that moment that Vinyl's horn touches her hooves. She hangs suspended for just a moment a shocked look on her face, "What-!!!" the single word is all she gets out before she is suddenly gone, and where she stood a moment before is only a pony sized hole in the cloud street.
Vinyl is quick even to respond to this, using the very last of her magic to engulf Glamour completely and break her fall before she hits the ground. She could never kill another pony, no matter how deep her hatred was... However, she will write a letter to the Princesses and have her trialled for attempted mareslaughter immediately. She collapses on the street, totally drained of every last bit of her energy. Marble is the first to greet her, scooping her up in his arms and holding her very tight, letting fresh tears spill from his eyes. Vinyl now lets herself cry, too, but she is not alone, as over a dozen ponies come over offering their support.
Once Vinyl has gained a little more energy from a mixture of medicine, food, water, and plain old TLC, she stands up and gives her fans a grateful wave. "Thank you all. I'll be back in Cloudsdale before you know it, I promise!" she says, before hopping on a cloud and magically letting it descend to Ponyville, Marble following her.
"Yes," says Vinyl, "but first, let me take you out somewhere. For a drink." She smiles, pulling her fiance into a cuddle. "I'm so proud of you, honey. That wasn't easy at all."
"A drink?" queries the bureaucrat. "Can it.. be something other than water this time?" he says, with a light chuckle.
"Of course." replies Vinyl with a soft laugh, and breaking into a canter, she grins. "Last one to Tobiano is a loser!"
Marble isn't one for running, but humours his fiance this time. "The only loser here is Glamour, my darling..."
Cloudsdale seems to be somewhat warm today, much to the surprise to Marble. Cloudsdale has a tendency to be cool for about... 3 and a half out of the four seasons.
