Ever since her concert, Medley has been living on cloud nine. Day to day, she is being more and more recognized by the local populace. Young fillies want her autograph, young stallions are wanting something else. She has never got so many winks in her life and she can't help but feel flattered. It is almost overwhelming for her. Yesterday she was a the world's greatest Average Joe and today she is living within her fifteen minutes of fame.
The emerald pegasus lands outside of Vinyl Scratch's studio, giving a brief knock before being welcomed in by the world famous DJ. After a quick hug, a hoof bump and a catch up, she steps into the recording booth to let out some steam into the microphone. She has been up every night until the early morning, writing lyrics, creating rhythms within her head and trying to get it all out before she falls flat or grows cold. Vinyl has been a huge help as well, giving her advice and helping her along with the pacing of her lyrics. She has made plenty of friends in her life, but Vinyl is the first that she feels that she has been able to connect with on this level. There is something about music that is so magical.
As the guitars, drums and rhythm begins to rumble through the headphones over her ears, she leans in and starts to sing, her body swaying back and forth subtly as she aims to pull out the symphony that is in her heart.
~~
All the ponies walking in a straight line
Turn around and you're caught up in the crossfire
Never knowing when you're going, so we go with the flow
And words burn as they travel through the grapevine
And some rebels got to get it in their own time
Breaking down, so alone, getting ready to go
So if you know where you're going
Then I'll follow where you lead
I'm on the darkest road to nowhere
And you're the better part of me
Send me your love
Send me your love
Send me your love
Send me your love
Out of line and you're standing in formation
Last train and it's leaving from the station
Never knowing when you're going, it's the luck of the draw
Day breaking in a million little pieces
Time is flying and it's dying when it freezes
It's getting cold out on the edge and I'm ready to fall
Do you know where I've been hiding?
I'm a broken refugee
And while the world is out there fighting,
There's nothing left here to believe
So if you know where you're going
Then I'll follow where you lead
I'm on the darkest road to nowhere
And you're the better part of me
Send me your love

With a heavy breath, she steps away from the microphone to peek through the window at Vinyl Scratch who practically breaks her face with the smile that is plastered across it. She gives a quick pump of the hoof to signal that everything turned out well. Medley lets out a soft laugh as she feels her heart flutter, reaching up to wipe at her eye briefly to sneak a hint of moisture away.
"Dang girl, way to let it out and leave it on the floor!" The DJ yells out as she bounces through the door to practically tackle her winged companion to the ground, the pair sharing in a loud laugh.
"Psh. It was nothing, really, just something that I was toying around with the last few nights." The emerald pegasus says with a hint of a blush in her cheeks. "Thanks though, it means the world to me."
Once they climb back to their hooves and share a quick lunch, she is out the door once again after a wave, taking to the sky to soar through the crisp air and thick clouds on her way home to Cloudsdale. She can still feel that beat tucked away into her heart, banging away like a drum. For the first time in a long time, she feels on top of the world.
Maybe Rainbow Dash was right, maybe this was her moment.
