Cast: The fabulous Filly: Rarity.
And Sky -The mudbeast- blue.
Rarity rests her head against her desk, eyes closed- glasses hanging precariously to one side of her muzzle. The drawing board is blank- as it has been for the last few days- ever since Sky_Blue moved in. Ever since her concentration has been interrupted by the horrid scraping of the plow- the mud caked living room floor, the SMELL of dirt, grass and...whatever else it is Sky walks in daily. She gives a delicate sigh and turns her head to one side, then the other. "..."
The door to the boutique flies open, accompanied by the call of, "Howdy, Rarity!" and... curiously, no sign nor sound of the plough. Doubly curious is the general lack of mud on the filly. Triply curious is the fact her right hindleg is in a cast, she has various bruises across her form, and her mane is a complete travest- no, wait, her mane is usually like that. Over the earth filly's back are two large saddlebags, which appear to be fairly well-packed. )
Rarity turns her head to one side once again, eyes closed, ears perking and twisting towards the sound of terror creeping into her room. "Hi. Sky. "She sighs a delicate, depressed lady like sigh. "How was your day?" She murmurs. She's not looking, at Sky of course. She's just...lying there.
"Uh... kind of destroyed Canterlot University Library, landed several ponies into comas, dozens more with moderate injuries, wrecked a fair few lives, smashed several real pricy stained glass windows, and broke mah leg," Sky Blue responds, whilst hobbling over towards the unicorn filly. "How was yer day?"
Rarity blinks momentarily at the descriptions of the disaster from Skyblue. Par for the course, really, but she still looks up and over at the other girl with a confused expression, before it dissolves into apathy and disappointment. "I...See. And how, prey-tell did you manage that? Did the university need a good plowing?"She mumbles, and stands from her desk, trotting into the kitchen. "Sit down, dear, let me fetch you some tea. "She sighs. Even if she's perpetually annoyed with Sky, she's still a pony- which means compassion and caring. Kind of.
"Ah was hurryin' over to one of the bookshelves t'get a book out before mah lunchbreak was up, slipped in some mud, and crashed into a bookcase, then they all sort of fell down like them little black board thinies... Dominicans? Dominions? Somethin' like that," Sky Blue replies as she moves to lie down upon Rarity's fainting couch, after taking off her saddlebags and carefully setting them down. "Ah was taken bah Princess Celestia a few hours back, and ah feel just awful about ruinin' so many pony's plans. Ah know ah may not be the smartest pony, and ah sure as shoot know ah ain't the most graceful, but ah never meant t'harm no-pony," she elaborates, sounding on the verge of tears.
Rarity sighs. "No, dear. There's never any malice in your actions. "She mumbles. "Which is why I........tolerate you. "She smiles- a forced smile. "At least you didn't bring any mud into the house this time. That's...that's good. "She explains, and returns to the room to stand adjacent to the other pony. "...It will be alright, darling. I'm sure Celestia isn't mad, and the other ponies will be back to normal in no time. You get used to the nightmares. "she mumbles the last part to herself.
"Thanks, Rarity. Ya'll're a real good friend," Sky Blue replies, giving a small, sincere smile up at the unicorn fashionista, before adding, "That's why ah feel real bad about mah main purpose fer the visit, today. The Pumpkins have offered t'put me up at their farm while mah leg heals, and as much as ah really love stayin' here with ya'll, Sweetie Belle, and Opal, ah know how much work ya'll've got, and ah know ah'd only get under yer hooves, so... ah accepted their offer."
Rarity Stares. She -stares- for a few moments. "The...Pumpkins? That new family that just moved in? You...you accepted thier offer? They...they offered to let you stay with them? Those country bumpkins? And you...you're leaving? You're leaving my home? But darling you, you can't leave! We've just gotten to know each other, and you don't get under my hooves...that much...I Just...can't bring myself to accept this...Oh! The Tea! I'll be right back. "She squeaks, turning and quickly wandering into the kitchen. Where she does this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMEWluFtfwg
"Ah know it's hard, sugarcube, but don't worry - ah'll be back here as soon as mah leg's all healed up," Sky Blue calls through from atop the couch, whilst adjusting the position of her cast with a mildly pained expression. "Ah could never ditch mah bestest friend, after all."
Rarity Pokes her head back into the room almost instantly. "CELESTIA NO! I...I mean, DARLING! Dear, no, no, no, no, no, no, nooooo. We want you to get better! We want you to get all rested up, and you, you don't like living here! It's so...CLEAN and...not...muddy...and it doesn't smell like the backside of a barn. No no, I think you'll be far happier at the Pumpkin Bumpkins, and you just take ALL the time you need to rest and heal up! I don't want you straining anything, or, or hurting your other leg! No darling, that is just the place for you! In a farm. Healing your leg.
"Well, t'tell ya'll the truth, ah've really been wantin' t'get away farm work and move into somethin' fancy, like dressmakin', or workin' with books, or... well, anythin', really," Sky Blue replies as she leans back a little upon the sofa, staring at her cast. "Besides, ah fell in love with the Carousel Boutique the first time ah came in. All them pretty dresses, all them fancy curtains, and carpets, and whatnot. It feels like mah first real home - and with mah bestest of friends. Which reminds me! Ah got ya'll somethin', t'make up fer the fact ah'm stayin' away fer the next month or two," she adds, leaning over the sofa and rummaging about in one of her saddlebags.
Yes. Yes. all those pretty fancy things you cover in mud. The pretty pony's eyes widen when Sky starts to fish something out of her bags and Rarity takes a step back. "OH, oh, no no, darling! I'll come and visit you on the farm, and I'm sure you...you'll have a wonderful time there! I just want you to get the best possible care a country bumpkin could have! Or give. I'm sure, you'll be ...hooting and hollering with a corn cob pipe and a straw hat in no time! You know, enjoying your do-se-dos and your...square...dancing. "She shudders. "I couldn't possibly provide those things here with you and dress making is terribly boring work! And you just NEVER get to enjoy it really! "She smiles widely, nervously. "I only want the BEST for you, dear...
"Well, that's real sweet of ya'll, Rarity; ah'm sure ah'll have great fun there. But, ah bet ah'll be glad t'be back here come the time when mah leg is all better," the cyan pony cheerfully replies, before fishing out a shiny diamond, almost as big as her head, then holding it over towards Rarity. "Ah found this about a week back, when sleep-ploughin' near Everfree. Ah cleaned it up a bit and thought ya'll'd be able t'appreciate it more than me, as ah know ya'll like them fancy rocks."
Rarity stares at the large rock and tugs it out of Sky's grasp with a flash of magic. "Oh...lovely cut, lustre, gleam...w, where did you FIND this? It's beautiful! Are, are you sure you want me to HAVE this, darling? This is absolutely goregeous. "She sputters, setting the gemstone down carfully on her table. "This could be the center peice for a new design! OH! The perfect thing for Power_Ballad! I should certainly show her when she comes back into town! Thank you, darling!
"Ah'm sure ya'll can have it!" Sky Blue replies with a pleased expression, watching the unicorn's reaction with a smile upon her face. "When ah found it, ah thought, "Rarity'll love this!" and then was waitin' fer a good moment t'spring it on ya'll. Besides, ah just wanted t'thank you fer all the kindness ya'll've shown me since ah got here. It's what friends do, right?"
Yes. Well, if by 'friends' she means, Rarity spends most of her free time trying not to strangle the other pony, then yes. They're 'friends.' That's sort of the same thing, right? "Yes...Friends, heh, heh. Well I suppose I AM an Element of Harmony..." She mumbles quietly to herself, looking at the giant gem quietly. "Thank you, darling. I do hope you get well soon. "She sighs.
