VIRGA
Things had been quiet around the Palace since Firefly's visitation, and nicely quiet for one Virga. He hadn't been in this place long, confined due to his predicament of crashing, literally, on the balcony of Princess Celestia though this place already felt like home. A funny though, as he had never been to Canterlot let alone Equestria before. Or at least, he couldn't remember if he'd ever been in the land. The poor state of his wings had been too great for a quick, magickal cure for they were much too sensitive. Likewise, he couldn't walk around without great difficulty as the muscles in his wings failed to respond, and dragging them would cause pain. Instead, he lay on the blankets with his head on a pillow with a few books brought to him by one of the palace servants. It had been asked of him from whence he came. It had been asked of him of how he came to be here. He had no answers.
RD
Donning her brand new armor which Luna gave her during hearthwarming, Rainbow Dash is looking every inch the warrior of old ponytales. As she soars through the palace on her way to speak with Celestia about the current weather situation. More snow. Less snow. More snow. Maybe a bit less snow. Someone needs to get their reports straight! Having caught a rumor of a wounded peagsus with broken wings though, she couldn't help but curiously head over as she peeks from room to room with her squinty purple eyes. Her colored mane looks windblown from her travel to Canterlot, giving her a rather messy and disheveled look. "Hello? Anyone hoooome?" She calls in as she pokes her head into his room.
VIRGA
For the short time he had been here, the handling of Princess Celestia's guests certainly started to become a routine. Perhaps they didn't have a need for intense security in this place, or maybe the guests that continued arriving were simply the important types with clearance. The Pegasi nearly dark as night raised his head from the book on Canterlot Weather Oddities, his silky voice one that filled the room and yet emphasized the emptiness therein. "Princess Celestia is currently tending to her affairs," he said, his silver eyes locking on the multicolored pony. What a strange combination of color, so...bright. And female. With the exception of the Guard so far, all of these ponies were...female. He wondered if he was asleep without realizing it.
RD
Well, you save the world at least two or three times, you tend to go wherever the heck you want to. Besides, she's in Celestia's 'circle' so to speak. As the armored Rainbow Dash trots her way in with a raise of her head upwards, she says, "So, did it hurt? You know, when you fell from heaven? Ha. Been wanting to use that one. Sup? I'm Rainbow Dash, Celestia's most awesome friend and in charge of the weather patrol. I hear you're th' guy that broke both wings and can't remember his name." She says as she flops down before him and reaches up to tug her helmet free, giving her rainbow mane a quick shaking out.
VIRGA
Broke both---can't remember his name? Where did that silly rumor arise? "Actually it did hurt," he answered, setting the book aside for now. If he ended up living in this place, he might as well get to know these ponies. Princess Celestia's quick response saved him from the life of being an absolutely worthless Pegasi. Yet, there was no guarantee he'd ever fly again. His eyes followed her movement, especially that mane. How was it that she was so bright? Never mind the fact Celestia was white and had a multicolored mane--this was bright of another caliber. "Thy name is Virga." Since...when did he begin speaking like that? He wasn't even sure why he did.
RD
"Hey Virga. Nice ta' meetcha." Rainbow Dash says as she plops a hoof over the top of her helmet. "So, you really don't remember anything or those just rumors? I mean, I've seen Diamond Dancer hit her head at least fifteen times this week trying to catch a star and she still remembers her name." She says with a wild grin upon her face, then tilts her head over to inspect his wings, a look of pain reflecting in her purple eyes. She is as wild as the wind, and to be taken from the skies would be her nightmare.
VIRGA
How did rumors circulate? This place must have been a gossiper's paradise if the word got out that quickly. "I remember nothing before awaking in the middle of the night, in the middle of the sky with broken wings that barely functioned. I was falling, upside down. If I had not awakened, we'd not be having this conversation." Virga was grim pony if one had to describe him, but no grim as in bad. Everything about him evoked this forsaken tone without him trying. "The last Pegasi that spoke to me raced off to stir the patrols over the idea that a hazard occupies the sky. There was nothing in the sky with me that night."
RD
A big deal like this? Of course it's going to get around! One whisper turns to another and soon, Rainbow Dash will hear about it! Mostly because Rarity was going on and on and on about how romantic the situation was. Stallions falling from the sky? That's something worth investigating. "That sounds pretty rough. So, something must have taken you out pretty good then to break both your wings and hit you so hard you can't remember anything else. But, you remember your name right? What else do you remember?"
VIRGA
Virga wasn't sure how big a deal that an unknown pony dropped from the sky in such a dramatic fashion. He hardly knew this place, though knew well enough that he wasn't from here. "My name," he answered, flicking his ears. "That I'm not from here. Equestria was merely a mention on a map, and nothing more. I cannot tell you where I'm from, where I've been, what used to do, or if I had family. This doesn't bother me so much. It is quiet here; if I remember anything before the other night, it was a lot of noise."
RD
Furrowing her brows, Rainbow Dash's eyes widen. "I got it! I bet you're from another place and time! Maybe you're from the future and there was this big battle going on and you got teleported into the past by some weird pony magic and things went weird and boom! You're now here! That'd be awesome." She says, bouncing on her hooves a bit with a wide grin spread about her cyan colored muzzle. "Maybe you're here to tell us some big secret, like, to stop this war that destroys the world or something! Now you gotta remember!" She bonks him on the head. "REMEMBER."
VIRGA
Headbonking. The only thing that resulted from the headbonk was a blank stare, as if Virga had trouble comprehending the gesture of a headbonk. Did it mean she liked him, or was it just their version of a nudge? The dark pony thought about her interesting theory of whence he might have come, but there was only one problem with that. "Perhaps it would be good for you, but not for the future," he said. "If I am from the future, my being here has altered the course and thus the future I came from no longer would exist." Deep. Thought. In fact, that was scary-deep thought from a pony that couldn't remember anything from just beyond a few nights prior. Virga silently admitted it to himself--that thought was too deep and he wasn't sure why his mind went off in that direction.
RD
"Nope! You haven't altered anything yet because you can't remember! Until you remember and tell us what's actually going to happen, then you can't alter anything yet. Right now you're just some dude with broken wings and a bad headache. So, if you remember why you're here, and then tell us, that would alter the future. If the future is so horrible, then it's definitely good that we change it for the best!" Rainbow Dash says as she spits out her own reasoning back to him with a wide grin. "Or, maybe you're from the past! Some ponies tried time travel and threw you into the future to learn our secrets and then bring it back to our ancestors or something." She pauses in thought. ".. if that's true, you tell them that I'm the most awesome pony ever and that I'm a legend."
VIRGA
"Oh, but I have altered things," said Virga. "I interrupted the Princess reading and filling her letters, became a documented case in the guard record and Doctor's record, and the patrol has been put on a alert by one Firefly, which wouldn't have if she didn't ask for my explanation." He subtly grinned at this self-proclaiming awesome pony. "Though I'd be careful with such thinking, Rainbow Dash. If I am from the past and am supposed to return, your awesomeness may be misinterpreted as a threat and thus measures would be taken to prevent your birth." Again with the deep theories! "But I doubt I'm from any such thing as future or past."
RD
With a flare of her wings out from under her armor, Rainbow Dash strikes a dynamic pose, followed by a toss of her rainbow colored mane. "Ha! Bring it on! Come and stop my birth and I will give you a sonic rainboom!" After a moment, she gives him a wry grin. "So, where do you think you're from? You have an accent and not from about here yet." She says, leaning over to inspect his rump and get an idea of his cutie mark.
VIRGA
What an unusual response to the postulation of dire and death! "My, my you are a spirited one," he said with a near Canterlot-esque upper class tone, but one not so quite condescending. Rather, it was a curious tone that hinted Virga was most interested in this Rainbow Dash. "I haven't thought about my origin. I just know it isn't here. I certainly know before the other night I never heard of Princess Celestia."
RD
"Really? So you don't know about the elements of harmony either?" Rainbow Dash asks as she gives another flare of her wings. "Six elements that are bound together in friendship who has the power to pretty much save the world when necessary?' She asks as she gives him a curious raise of her brows.
VIRGA
"Can't say I have," Virga answered, tilted his head as his rump was examined by this peculiar, bright pony. Marks must have greatly meant something here too. They likely did wherever he came from, but he never thought about it much. Moon Rings were not exactly a common Mark, and it usually left a vague hint to anyone not of the weather ponies as to what it meant. "The elements I know of are earth, fire, air, water, light and dark."
RD
"You haven't even heard of the elements of harmony? Alright. Well, let's start from step one. What is the last thing you remember before falling from the sky?" Rainbow Dash asks as she circles the injured pegasus on the pillow, inspecting him with a critical look in her purple eyes. "What is your favorite food? What is your favorite bedtime story? Who is the prettiest girl you've ever seen in your life? What's your parent's names? If you could choose between cake or waffles, what would you eat?" She rambles off a list of questions in hopes to jar his memory.
VIRGA
The last thing he remembered, now. Virga spent several quiet moment thinking about that as best he could with Dash rambling off so many questions at once. "Never thought about favorite food, and I don't recall bedtime stories," he answered, watching her move. Her spirit was akin to a predator and a predator he felt oddly comfortable with. Was he to be her prey? Perhaps he wouldn't mind that either, unless her idea of domination was as keen as her forward inclination. "I don't recall my parents, or ever eying females. I know the nature of cake, but not the nature of these...how you say...waffles? Is that a peasant food?" Genuine curiosity flattened any notion of upper class, monocle-wearing snark. "The last thing I recall is loud noise...everywhere. But even remembering that, I believe it was the wind in my ears that stirred me from being unconscious."
RD
"So! You remember playing with water crystals in the clouds then? When was the last time you did that? Do you remember anything about it in particular?" Rainbow Dash asks as she sprawls out on her stomach after unhooking her battle armor and letting it clink to the side. She is definitely a bright pony, cyan coupled with ROY-G-BIV and her rainbow lightning bolt on her rump. "And if you didn't come from space, then you had to have had to come from somewhere." She shouts over to one of the guards. "Hey! You! Blank staring guy, fetch me a map!" The stallion stares at her for a moment. ".. Now? Go? Shoo!" There is a resigned sign as the pegasus trots off. ".. Ha. They do what I say. Awesome."
VIRGA
If he didn't know any better, which he didn't, Virga would dare say Dash wouldn't look out of place with a stein of mead with the way she commandeered the guard and lounged about. Funny thing, mead. He remembered something about mead, but what was it? The most familiar drink to him was...mead. As she removed her armor he got a good look at her fine rump with her fine Mark. "I don't recall," he said. "I just know cloud manipulation is my specialty, bending it to my will as easily as we Pegasi walk upon it."
RD
The athletic pony flops her chin down across her forearms as she pinches her brows together in thought. "Hm." Biting her bottom lip for a moment, she says, "Well, I'm in charge of Equestria's weather patrol. Kinda why I dropped by. I've got conflicting reports from Celestia about how much snow she wants this year. I need to track her down and get that straight, but, it can wait for now I guess. She's probably too busy reading about five hundred letters from Twilight Sparkle about books and stuff." She says with an amused grin. "You hungry?"
VIRGA
Weather patrol. There was that term again. This place had teams of Pegasi that monitored their weather. He couldn't say he heard of that before. Nobody controlled the weather as far as he remembered, where ever he was from. It had its own mind, or so they thought. It was strange remembering minor things that should enforce a full recollection of his past, but nothing came out of it. "Yes," he said. "I've somewhat been her...secretary...while re-cooperating, informing visitors that she is out on her affairs. I didn't think I'd end up doing so, but it gives me someone to talk to." He grinned at her something mischievous as much as innocent. "I am quite well fed here, but does Canterlot have any mead? No, wait...does that word even exist here?"
RD
"Mead?" Rainbow Dash says with a snicker under her breath. "You gotta be from the past if you're gonna be using that. No, though I can probably getcha a shot of tequila or sarsaparilla. That usually knocks me off my hooves when I'm at The Basement dancing for my life." She says as she gives a flutter of her wings to him. "You want to come root out some drinks with me then?"
VIRGA
Drinking with a pony like her? That would be something that could lead to a few rather interesting...events. "Mead is honey wine," he said. "You don't have honey wine?" He blinked at her. Virga loved his mead, though he wasn't sure why. It just felt...natural. "I would love to come with you, Rainbow Dash, but you see my wings. They cannot be lifted or moved in their current state. And my walking is not exactly too great."
RD
"Oh, honey wine! Yes we have that. Just never heard it called mead before." Rainbow Dash says with a laugh in her throat before she pushes up to her height and gives a long stretch of her body, bowing forward and giving her wings a flick. "Is your legs broken? You can't even walk either? You lay there you'll just get a charlie-pony. One hoof in front of the other!"
VIRGA
'My legs are fine,' Virga said, "but my wings...they were smashed to the point at which magic can't entirely heal them. The most I can do is stand, else I risk the recovery process this soon. I won't be able to walk around for another day or so."
RD
"Well, that sucks. I can't sit here for a whole day or two waiting on yah' to get better so we can get drunk together." Rainbow Dash says with a huff as her hot breath puffs upwards to cause her hanging rainbow bangs to flutter. "Well, I guess I can go out and getcha some. Won't be more than ten seconds flat!" She says as she propels herself up into the air, then darts out of the room in a flash of rainbow as she cuts a quick left out into the hallway, causing the pair of guards to topple over as the rush of velocity in her wake slams against them.
VIRGA
Not only was this pony attractive in her behavior and looks, she wanted to get drunk? He stared at her as he she was the stein of mead, prancing around while he couldn't move so much. Then again, she wasn't the only pony who Virga saw as attractive. That Princess Celestia...now there was sight with those long legs. He was about to say something when Dash sped from the room. Yes, that got his attention. She was as fast as he was and it was very hard to say if they were equals. He was inclined to think she was the faster one. Less mass, sleeker form.
RD
9.8 seconds later! Zoom. "Honey wine!" Rainbow Dash crows out. ".. And something harder for me, because I don't drink this girly stuff." She says as she plops down a basket of boozy goodies. Popping the cork from her bottle, she fills a large mug with the honey wine for him, then hands it over before opening up what can only be Ponyville's version of vodka. With a sniff, she gives a visible shudder, then takes back a quick slug. "So." Slug. "You're like.. Celestia's administrative assistant, huh?" She says with an amused laugh. "Must be boring talking to all the uppity-ups who want to kiss her hooves and be all: Oooh Ceeelestia, you are soooo beautiful today. Can you please come to my par-tay. We're going to look at fine art and talk about the moss growing." She says in her best posh voice.
VIRGA
There weren't too many things in this world that could get a strange look from Virga, but this was one of those things. Not only was she fast, but also efficient in carrying drinks while being fast, and she called mead 'girlie stuff'. How...exquisite! If there was a single reason he'd stay in Canterlot, aside from the Princess herself, it was this Dash. He took the mug of mead between his foreleg and sniffed it, finding it much to his liking. The impression of the local well-to-do's managed a rare, humored snort from him. "Not a bad imitation," he said, cleared his throat. "I do believe, young filly, that...that sort of chicanery is most uncivilized and of peon derivation, yes. Indeed. Indubitably tish-tosh." He grinned again, wondering if his noble act was close enough to how Canterlot's elite behaved.
RD
"You just call me a chicken wing that needs a tick-tack?" Rainbow Dash says with a squint of her eyes at him, before bursting out in a rough laugh before taking another slurp of her drink. "I ain't gotta clue whatcha just said there." She says as her gives tuck in against her sides, smacking her lips at the bite of booze lingering within her mouth. "So, we know you like mead and that you're into weather manipulation, and you gotta fancy accent that'd say you're some type'ah nobility. Hey, where's that map at?!" She calls over to the guard who gallops in, dropping the scroll in front of her. "Alright, so.." She pushes it open and spreads it out. ".. Uh.. I.. don't know how to read this. This is Twilight's thing. Anything on here look familiar?"
VIRGA
She liked the impression AND had no clue what he said. Brilliance had many forms, after all. He sipped his mead like a noble out, habitually, but he wasn't quite sure if he was a noble or not. This palace was far more upper class than anything he could think of, which wasn't much. He peered down at the map and tilted his head. No, this certainly didn't help at all. He found Equestria alright, but the other names on the map didn't register. At all. He spent several moments looking over the map before the answer came. "No. This map is very...unfamiliar to me..."
RD
"Bah. This sucks." Rainbow Dash says as she scoops up the map and rolls it once again. With a lob over her shoulder, she tosses it to the side. "You gotta remember something! Well, besides that you like to get drunk on honey wine." She says as she taps her hoof on the ground a few times. Tap Tap Tap. "So if you aren't from the future, or from the past, or from space, then you gotta be from the here and now. So... loud noise, falling.. broken wings." She trots around in a circle a few times in thought.
VIRGA
He had to wonder. Why couldn't he remember anything? There had to be a logical reason for it. He wanted to say amnesia, but that didn't sound quite right. He knew something was missing instead of not knowing. But for now, another thought came to mind. "This...sucks?" he said. "What does this mean? What or who is sucking on what?" It was an honest, innocent question.
RD
Quirking a brow up at him as if he was ludicrous, Rainbow Dash says, "You don't know what that means? It means it.. sucks? It's rotten? No good? It's bad? It's a ton of crud? You know? No bueno?" She musters out a bit of Espanol to him with a lopsided grin. Finishing off her flask, she lets out a soft 'erp' under her breath, then flops onto her back to dig a hoof into her chest, rustling up the fur. "Just saying it's pretty awful that you can't remember anything. How about magic? Think a memory spell will work on you?"
VIRGA
Virga mouthed a silent 'oh' when she explained the definitions of suckage. And there he sat, thinking she referred to a suction device or some hydrodynamic principle or wind vector...or something else entirely that may or may not involve other things. "You are saying there is more magic than what Princess Celestia and her Doctor wield?"
RD
"Well, I don't know, I ain't a wizard, but if they can heal your wings, can't they heal your mind also?" Rainbow Dash asks as she pokes at his side with a hoof lazily. Jab. Poke. "Or at least try a memory spell? I bet Twilight Sparkle knows of one. She's a real nerd, knows pretty much everything. She's one of my five Bee-EFf-EfF"s if you know what I mean."
VIRGA
The jabbing at his side with a hoof caught him off guard as it was yet another sort of gesture that he couldn't remember. It was almost pitiful. Did he really forget these things, or did they not exist at his origin? And Bee-Eff-Eff? The deuce was that? The expression garned a confused look on the pony. "So...she's your nightly hanky-panky partner?" he asked. It was the first thing that came to his mind primarily because it sounded like an intimate thing, and she did make that remark earlier about him swinging the opposite direction and having no problems with it
RD
Eyes widening, Rainbow Dash nearly chokes on her gulp of vodka as she filled up her glass for a second round. ".. My.. my what?! No! Oh.. no.. ha... noooo..." She trails off a bit. "She is my best friend forever! I have five of them." With a deep breath, she says, "We are the Elements of Harmony. I mentioned that before. I represent the element of Loyalty. Twilight represents the element of Magic. Each element when comes together is the most powerful thing of all, friendship. Not for hanky panky. Sides'. I like dudes, not dudettes." She coughs softly as her eyes cut to one side, then up to the ceiling. ".. Totally, dudes."
VIRGA
Virga snickered softly at her reaction, having not expected it. But now he had planted that idea, and like it was that Rainbow Dash may be reminded of his words the next time she saw Twilight, whoever that was. He merely grinned at her as he delicately sipped his mead. "Well, good," he said. "Because I'm much fond of these, as yous ay, 'dudettes', and as you say, 'totally'...not dudes."
RD
"You sure? Because you don't even know where you're from. Maybe you're totally into dudes and you got one waiting for you at home, longingly waiting, tears in his eyes, face pressed against the cold glass of the window as he wishes on fallen stars for his Virga to come home!" Rainbow Dash says as she sticks her hoof in his ear annoyingly for a moment, cackling. "You kinda got that 'into dudes' vibe aboutcha. I should ask Tie-Dye, he so has the radar for it."
VIRGA
"I'm quite sure, Rainbow Dash," he said. "Would you mind if I called you Dash?" He wasn't quite sure what she meant but he 'into dudes vibe'. What did it mean? It was like the appearance of the rarely-seen double rainbow. What did it mean? "That is a rather frightening image you've created. And yet I picture such a pony looking like you only because you invented it."
RD
"You can call me Dash, sure." Rainbow says as she pokes at his ear a bit more, then rolls to her stomach again. "What? You are picturing me with my face pressed against the glass, waiting for you to come home with tears in my eyes? Ha! If you were my plus-one and were lost, I wouldn't be waiting on my rump, I'd be out there looking for you! I'd also kick the butt of whatever kicked your butt, except I'd do it twice because that's how awesome I am. I once kicked a dragon in the face." She puffs out her chest proudly. "I'm also the protector of Ponyville. Got my own fan club and all. I'm kinda a big deal."
VIRGA
A Dragon. In the face. A kicked a dragon in the face? Now that was an interesting picture. And while any other pony might make a remark that it sounded out of place and foolishly brave, he didn't find it so strange. "Tell me about this...dragon?" he said. Even the word itself interested him. Dragons. He knew something about them, but couldn't remember that either. "Most curious."
RD
"Oh, well, this dragon used to live in the mountain not too far from here, right? Big, huge, scaly dragon! Well, while it slept, it was snoring and creating a thick billow of smoke that was sweeping over all of Ponyville and drowning out the clouds. Smelled horrible! So, the Elements of Harmony decided that we need to wake this dragon up and tell it to go sleep somewhere else so that we won't you know.. die and stuff because we had no sunlight and without sun we can't grow food and stuff. So, the six of us made our way to this mountain and the dragon started to get angry and was roaring at us." Leaping to her hooves, Dash starts to get excited. "And right when I thought it would try and eat my friends, I was like: HEY DRAGON!" She spin kicks in the air. "Hi Yah! Right in the nose! He was pretty angry, but I showed him who was boss! Then Fluttershy calmed him down and he took all his treasure and left us alone. But, I was pretty awesome though."
CELESTIA
Celestia makes her way into the room within which Virga is resting. "I hope that you are feeling well, Vi- oh, hello there Rainbow Dash," the Princess says upon turning to see the rainbow-maned element-bearer standing before the palace's most recent guest. "May our servants get you anything, Virga? Some more water, or perhaps some food?" she asks in her usual soft and tender tone as she steps fully into the room.
VIRGA
Virga listened with an interest to Dash's story about her encounter with the dragon. She focused on this Elements thing a bit much, but he supposed it was in her nature. The antics she displayed drove his curiosity in her as an individual as much as the mention of this other pony, Fluttershy. When Celestia entered, his attention shifted from the rainbow pony to the other rainbow pony. "Perhaps some water to follow this mead Dash nicely fetched for me, and a little food," he said. "You should know Firefly came looking for you to deliver the Solstice report and she has...taken it upon herself to rally the air patrol in search of hazards due to my condition..."
RD
"Oh, Hey Princess Celestia." Rainbow Dash says with a quick bow of her frame forward. "So, I came here looking for you about the weather situation but then I got distracted by this guy and so now we're totally friends and stuff. Any chance you or Twilight may know a memory spell to fix his brain so he can start remembering things?" She asks as her rainbow tail flips back and forth behind her.
CELESTIA
"Of course," the Princess says with a little smile. Before she even has a chance to see anything, servants run off and quickly return with a large pitcher of water and a few glasses. They pour some for Celestia, Rainbow, and Virga before they bring forward a collection of small pastries. "Thank you for letting me know, Virga," the Princess says to the grounded pegasus before turning towards Rainbow. "I see. Well, we can catch up on the weather situation soon," she says as she settles down next to both of them. "I'm afraid, however, that it's not nearly that simple Rainbow. A pony's memory is a very delicate thing. No amount of magic is known to bring it back."
VIRGA
Virga wanted to move to face the Princess more than he did, but he was still in the stage of recovery at which he couldn't move himself too much. He smiled lightly to her, his eyes keenly analyzing her as much as her long legs. Yes, he did like her legs. "I'm not fond of the idea of having magic tampering with my head in any case," he said. "I am now able to stand, but I can't walk very far."
RD
"Looks like you gotta remember stuff old school." Rainbow Dash says as she gives Vi' another prod with her hoof. "So, we're back to cake and waffles then." Popping her helmet back on to her head, followed by a strapping up of her battle armor that she got from Luna, she gives a wide grin over to Celestia. "Check it out, I look like one of your guards, but only twenty percent more awesome!" Looking back to Virga, she says, "Maybe I can help with your physical therapy. I'm only the most fastest and athletic pony around! I know all about getting my body into shape and maybe when your wings heal, I can work out with you."
CELESTIA
"Have patience, Virga," the Princess says back to the wounded pegasus. "You will get better in time; for now, however, you must take care and not stress your body too much." She gives a little nod to the dark pegasus before pushing herself back up to her hooves and looking over to Rainbow. "I see you're enjoying my sister's gift. I have not seen that armor in... oh, my, quite some time," the Princess muses quietly.
VIRGA
Virga glanced back at the pastries when Celestia told him to have patience. Maybe he was taking things too quickly, and Dash's presence didn't help him take things so slowly. She was fast, and without his wings he felt...slow. Very slow. All Pegasi generally felt slow on the ground. "You have a sister?" he said, not ignoring dash. "Suggesting something there, Dash?" he teased.
RD
"Yes, suggesting that when you get your wings back, we go running, and we do push ups, and sit ups, and wing flaps. We're gonna get you back in shape so that your waiting at home dude will be happy!" Rainbow Dash says with a grin as she winks at him, followed by a flip of her tail against his nose as she trots past him. "I am very much enjoying my gift from your sister. It's the best gift I've -ever- received. What can I get your sister in return?"
CELESTIA
Celestia smiles kindly down to Virga. Of course. He would have no idea of her and her sister. It is almost a surreal experience, in a land in which everypony knows her and her sister at a glance. "Yes, I have a sister, Virga. I am the Princess of the day and she is the Princess of the night," Princess Celestia explains softly. "Oh? You have a... 'dude'... waiting at home for you?" Celestia asks to Virga with a smile. "I am happy that at least some piece of your memory is back, then," she says with a little, almost airy giggle. "And, dear Rainbow Dash, my sister needs only your love and adoration. We have all the physical possessions in the world."
VIRGA
Virga blinked. Again with the the dude thing. "I've never, to my knowledge, been paired with anyone at all, especially not a dude," he said. He glanced at Celestia with an expression that clearly said he didn't know what she was talking about. "No. I have no one. As you are my caretaker, I've no one but yourself, Princess Celestia, and those who've come about in your absence."
RD
"Psh, you got me too, Virga." Rainbow Dash says as she leans over to bump her head against his shoulder. "Your physical therapist!" She crows out, then gives a scuff of her hoof along the floor. "But, I want to get Luna something because she's awesome and she hooked me up with this really cool armor. I need to get you something also Celestia! I don't know what you'd want though, so, drop me a hint?"
CELESTIA
"Oh?" Celestia asks curiously upon turning her attention back over to Virga. "Well, that is too bad. I had hoped that some memory had returned to you," the Princess says softly. "Well, I know that Equestria will welcome you with open arms," the Princess reassures calmly. "As you can already surely tell, the residents are very friendly." She then turns back over to Rainbow and takes in a short breath. "Well, you must understand that it has been quite a few centuries since I last gave my sister a gift. Let me give it some thought."
VIRGA
Virga peered up at the two, particularly Celestia. Centuries old, with such nice legs. He could get used to that...real used to that. There was experience in them legs and those wings. "They have been," he said. "I'm not sure if this is normal, as I don't recall." He didn't remark on her centuries of age. Or her sister's. In truth, he wasn't even sure how old he himself was in relation to Dash.
RD
Giving a flare of her wings, Rainbow Dash shakes out her feathers. "Anyways, I just need to know, more or less snow? That's all." She says as she gives a bit of a hop upwards before taking to the air, feeling a bit more comfortable up than down. "Everyone wants less snow, but I thought you said more snow. I personally want no snow. It's cold and boring and makes my teeth chatter." She says as she gives a few more flaps to stay afloat. "And, Virga, none of us are normal, normal is boooooring."
CELESTIA
Celestia does have exceptionally phenomenal legs. Especially for one as ancient as herself. "Well, 'normal' is a difficult word to truly define," the Princess says with a light giggle. "Nonetheless, I know you will enjoy your time here. And, if you wish, you will be most certainly welcome to make your home here," she says continues softly. "More... or less snow?" she asks with a little smile. "Well, how about we vary it a bit?" she asks. "More snow for a few days, then some warm days to melt it."
VIRGA
"I'm not sure where else I would go, being as I don't know where I came from," Virga said. He didn't want to think about it too much, where he came from. There wasn't much at all to think about, so why bother? This place was pleasant enough. And besides, if he did leave this place he'd not get to see those exceptionally phenomenal legs of Celestia's or Dash's lean muscles..he could throw the word 'little' in there, as he was larger than Dash, but smaller than Celestia. Did that mean Dash's personality came from a form of short-pony syndrome? He pondered.
RD
"Alright, I can do that!" Rainbow Dash says in response to varying the winter a bit to make it more even. Giving herself another stretch of her body to flex out her muscles a bit, she looks absolutely spectacular doing that in mid air. She is a champion after all! "Well, I suppose I will take off now." She says as she tilts her head down towards Virga, giving him a bright smile. "Visit you tomorrow?"
CELESTIA
"I hope that, once you start feeling better, Rainbow Dash here will help show you some of the realm," the Princess offers tenderly. "Perhaps her and some of her friends," she says before levitating up one of the earlier-provided pastries and takes a perfectly Princessly bite. "It was a pleasure, Rainbow. I will send you a letter with any assistance I can provide regarding my sister. Until then, take care, and bear the element well," she says with a tip of her head.
VIRGA
"I don't the harm in a visit tomorrow, Dash," Virga said. He slowly returned his attention to Celestia, watching how she manipulated things with her long, hard horn. There was that talk of elements again; that unless there was an echo. Virga sipped more on his mead and considered his next words carefully. "There is something to speak with you about..."
RD
"Alright guys. Catcha later!" Rainbow Dash says as she trots along the air for a moment, before gearing up and zipping out of the room with a quick 'whoosh' as she cuts one corner, then another, leaving a streaky rainbow trail in the air for a moment before it shimmers away.
CELESTIA
"Yes, Virga? How may I help?" the Princess asks as she slowly gets back down onto the floor by him, taking small bites from the pastries levitating in the air in front of him.
VIRGA
Virga waited until Dash was gone and out of sight. As much as he liked her presence, some of the things he wished to speak to Celestia about were not things he wanted the community knowing just yet. He did remember some things, but not all of them. He stared up at her with his silvery eyes, watching her mane. "After reading a few books about this place, I see that your old Royal Tongue is familiar to me, though I'm not sure how. It comes to me as plain as the words we speak now. And the padded armor I wear, which now sits on that table as I heal, is similar to some of your historic light armor. Dash thought I might be from the past, though I doubt that's possible."
CELESTIA
"Our old royal tongue?" Celestia asks curiously, her voice growing quiet as she pushed her muzzle in closer towards the pegasus. "That is... well, that is certainly unexpected," she comments. "Perhaps... yes, perhaps Rainbow is simply misinterpreting the evidence. You cannot be from the past. But you can be from a land that has the same traditions to our own. Or, perhaps, is even an ancestor nation to ours."
VIRGA
Was it just him, or did her demeanor shift when she spoke to him? He had no idea if he was royalty, though he had a feeling that somehow he was connected to nobility. "'Ours' meaning you and your sister's, or Equestria's?" he asked. "There is an emphasis on Marks, it seems, from the impression I had on Dash. I know for certain where I came from that Marks were not so much something seen with joy, but instead something else. I recall being wanderer for that reason, but I can't say any more because I don't know anything else. As I told Dash, there was nothing in the sky with me as I fell. If something dropped me, then something would have been there."
CELESTIA
Regardless, her expression certainly shows a significantly greater amount of curiosity and intrigue. "Perhaps both," the Princess says softly, giving a little smile to him in hte process. "And yes, yes, ponies here take great pride in their cutie marks. They represent a strong part of who they are, and naturally they take them very seriously, with great pride."
VIRGA
Virga canted his head just a bit. What if he was from one of those places? There was no use in thinking too heavily on it. He almost slipped into Royal Tongue with Dash through the word 'thy',but still the accent of speech pattern certainly singled him out as a pony from uncommon grounds; not snobbishly elite yet apparently educated, somehow. "I never have felt that way about my mark. I'm not sure if ponies here recognize it too well. You probably do, however."
CELESTIA
Celestia turns her eyes down to look at the pegasus's cutie mark. "I see," she mutters almost to himself before pulling back a bit. "Perhaps... perhaps there is something much more to you and your history than you know. And perhaps we can learn something about our own land by knowing you better," she comments still quietly.
VIRGA
'I see,' she said. She knew something, or postulated it. He wasn't sure what it was or how it would tie them together, but he sincerely hoped one thing. And that one thing Virga hoped was that he had not been eyng the gorgeous, slender legs of some long lost sister, because that would be fairly wrong. Then again, if he was then it would bode well with the royal idea of keeping it within the family. Such thoughts were likely unsavory, and he spoke them not. "More, you think?" he said. "Dash also jokingly suggested I came from space."
