Guueeeeeess what!
It's a new game! Years ago, when I was playing Zazu on Endless Round, a Lion King-themed MUCK, I invented a game called Five Stones, inspired by the room of that name which we'd drawn from the juvenile Lion King reader "A Tale of Two Brothers". Our programmer Asrohc implemented it, and it was a hit! I resolved to someday program my own sequel. The original five stones were those of Bounty, Confusion, Death, Love and Power, and one day I realized that the six Elements of Harmony in the FIM world made Six Stones an obvious choice.
So I created it! Skymaster was my first MUF program, and Six Stones is my second. I debuted a beta version of the game a few weeks ago for those players I could muster up. Since then, I fixed all the bugs I could find and added COLOR! I then playtested the game one-on-one with a giggly preschooler, and she liked it, so it must be ready for action!
To play, you'll need to either find a Six Stones set or have me put a linked action directly on you. There are four sets on the MUCK: one in Town Hall, one owned by the Marble/Vinyl family, one in the Dancing Dragons Inn, and one currently in Sugarcube Corner. I'll make more if necessary. If you'd prefer a link, just let me know, and that'll let you play with other players who also have links. As few as two people can play, and there's no upper limit. Just make sure that everyone you've invited to play is actually there, since I haven't yet implemented a way to drop a single player from the game apart from them resigning.
So how do you play? Well, you can type 'six help' when you're around a set, but half the fun of the game is figuring out how it works. Some aspects are obvious, some become clear if you're clever or play a fair bit, and some are obscure. There are a lot of secrets in this game. I hope you like it! And if you have any questions, suggestions or feedback, go ahead and post them here. Just don't post any rules you may figure out, since I don't want to spoil it for anyone.
