Around Ponyville, especially around Town Hall and Ponyville Square, are posted the following poster:
CITIZENS OF PONYVILLE!
-From the office of the mayor-
The following clause in the Ponyville charter (Section IV, Article iiiii) has recently come to the attention of Mayor Mare:
||| If the Office of the Chancellor should be left Vacant prior to the Naturall End of Term; whether through Resignation, Death, Incapacity or Scandal, there shall be held a Special Election ending on the second Tuesday in the Month of Ploughing, to be open to the Citizenry for two (2) days, which shall determine the Chancellor by Plurality for the remainder of the Term. |||
The mayor notes that in the wake of the resignation of former Chancellor Marble Memory, this clause is triggered for the first time in the history of Ponyville, which, she notes, has gotten along just fine without a chancellor for most of its existence and will probably continue to do so if we can just elect someone who can manage to finish out their term. Unfortunately, since the deadline long since passed for any names to get onto the ballot, this will be solely a write-in election.
Citizens of Ponyville are therefore welcomed to visit Ponyville Square over the next two days, ending on 9p.m. Tuesday, and cast their votes for the new chancellor. They are also welcomed to, you know, run. And campaign. And all that good stuff.
There follows the seal of the Mayor of Ponyville and the Ponyville emblem, a family standing proudly in silhouette before a Zap Apple tree.
Feel free to campaign, but campaign fast! Go to Ponyville Square and type 'vote' to vote.
