I am redesigning and redecorating my Canterlot club. The Velvet Rope. Two rooms will be added to the floor plan. I have enjoyed so much the unbridled creativity shown by the players on this MUCK that I am going to make it a contest. And yes there will be a prize.
Here is what you must do to compete, 1. Write a room description no shorter then a good length paragraph and no longer then two. 2. Either page #mail the entry to me. Or e-mail it to me with your character name. warpath@otakumail.com One entry per pony.
The winner will be decided by a vote on the Forums. I will not attach names to the Descs sent to me. The poll will simply be formatted Room 1, Room 2, Room 3...and so on."
PRIZES The Winner will have a statue of themselves displayed prominently in the main foyer of the Club as well as a plaque ICly thanking them for their contribution to The Velvet Rope. ICly they will also enjoy V.I.P (Very Important Pony) status permanently. Finally both Winner and Runner up will be featured in a Fan Fiction written by moi. That will be put up on FIMFanFiction.net as well as either being linked or posted here in the Forum as well.
Edit! The Poll above should read: Which two room descriptions among the entries provided best embodies what you would expect from an elegant club?
Note: Submissions are still being accepted up to the very day the poll closes. Votes CAN be recast as the contest progresses. Poll will be closed on the 20th of August. Consider this notice ponies, you have ten days left.

Well darling to be honest Skyheart is the only one to enter any submissions at all yet. Vinyl Scratch has expressed interest but so far I haven't anything from her. I imagine she is working on one. As I am working on a song submission for her contest.

*smiles* I may try to come up with something this weekend if time allows. The 'remember me' is about the statue, a joke reference to a Futurama episode. Bender wanted to be remembered in history so he had a giant statue of himself made that roared "REMEMBER ME!!!" then belches flames, then repeats. Silly robots.

Foyer After entering the doors you head down a short narrow hallway with white walls and a brilliant red carpet. The walls are lined with pictures of various important guests that have visited the place long before you. At the end a pair of professional earth stallion draft bouncers with sunglasses and suits check you and compare you to a few lists. Provided you weren’t hurled out onto the street by this point, you now stand in the middle of a large circular foyer that serves as the entrance room to the Velvet Rope. Just like the hallway, the carpet is a brilliant red and the off-white walls feature pictures of various ponies who have been here before all infinitely more important or famous than you will ever be. The top is set up in a dome with six clear curved windows separated by a frame to keep them in place with a decorative (and likely supporting) pillar in the center. This will let natural sunlight in during the day and give a gorgeous view of the stars at night. There are five doors in the foyer equally separated from one another not counting the one you just entered. True to its name, the Velvet Rope has its eponymous device partitioning each off when not in use. One seems always open. All the way to the right is the door to the main club, and indicated by a sign next to the doorway. Going counterclockwise are the doors to the rental hall, Red Velvet’s office, ballroom, and a fully closed off door with no sign. This leads to Red’s personal living quarters.

Club The club room is one of the largest in the building. The music is soft but upbeat as a jazz band plays on a stage to the right. The stage and the dance floor outstretching from it is made of a polished hard wood floor and allows for ease of movement without causing anypony to slip on the floor. At the far end of the room is a classy cherry wood bar lined with red stools fixed into place. There is an ornate shelf behind it filled with various kinds of drinks for the bartender to access. All throughout the rest of the room is a large collection of wooden tables with black leather couches, cozy chairs, and other assorted cushy seating surrounding them. The carpet is the same brilliant red as the rest of the place. The overall lighting is dim, but nothing too dark so as to impede anypony’s eyesight. Lanterns hang from the ceiling casting light down below. They appear to be illuminated with magic. On the left wall is a large brick fireplace embedded in the wall. A black iron portcullis blocks the fire from getting out of hand and keeps anypony from going too close to it. In front of the fireplace is a ten foot circular rug. It’s a black ring border on a red backdrop. In the center is a depiction of Red Velvet’s cutie mark, a stretch of velvet rope. It looks comfortable enough for ponies to take a cushion and sit down. Also surrounding it is a series of long black leather couches and chairs.

Banquet Hall The banquet hall of the building is most commonly reserved and rented out for paid events by clients who wish to have a nice area to host celebrations and get togethers of various kinds, complete with catered meals. The room has the same lush red carpet as the rest of the building, but the room here is a large open one and brightly lit with crystal chandeliers. There are rows of circular tables lined with perfectly clean white linen tablecloths with about six to eight chairs each. Altogether the arrangement will seat close to three hundred. A kitchen is seen in the back right wall where food is wheeled out to the buffet table that stretches nearly the length of the room itself. On the far left corner is a doorway that leads to an arching hallway that wraps around Red Velvet’s office and connects to the ballroom, the door to the left of said office back in the foyer.

Ballroom The ballroom is massive circular room with a short hallway leading up to it. Overhead are massive crystal chandeliers that reflect the light outward to the room in wonderful fashion. The floor is not made of the same red carpet as the rest of the club, but rather an elaborate but unobtrusive tile mosaic that is glazed over to give a smooth surface. On the far half of the room is a semicircle of large tall arched windows that let in sunlight and give a view to a calming garden with both day and night-blooming flowers so there is never a lack of color. Also in along this semicircle is a section of green carpet that houses a selection of tables and chairs for those not dancing to sit and relax. To the left is a section that appears tapered off to support whomever will be producing the music for the event, be it a band, a DJ, or even a simple instrument ensemble or pianist. On the right end of the carpet is a doorway that leads to an arching hallway that wraps around Red Velvet’s office and connects to the banquet hall, the door to the right of said office back in the foyer.
