BlueFeather stalks slowly up from behind a tree the focus of her attention, a small dove, thats rather close to Skyheart. She pauses a mommant, contemplating, she really needs to find a better name for him that wing pony wit a little bird. Still, most everything else, shes ignoreing for the momant, shes stalking after all!
Bardigan wanders the pond's perimeter with a thoughtful expression and a scroll in his hooves. He flaps along, talking to himself as he seems to read aloud from the parchment. By the sound of it, it's very important and officious! "... But what do I gain when it is done for the sake of it? What deep ponderings, what dark and mighty things are worth the reaching? ... No, no, that's terrible," he mutters, whipping out a quill and scratching something out. It's then he looks up, as if for inspiration... and finds Skyheart sitting nearby. "Ah!" he says, and hurries over. "Sky! I say, Sky! I have news for you!"
BlueFeather creeps her way slowly closer, when she thinks shes withen pouncing distance, her rear lifts, tail giving a sharp little flick, her wings spreading wide, her whole body giving a little wiggle and she prepares herself to pounce, then she jumps! Its posable the first that Sky knows of her presence, is when she lands apon his back, her head dips, quickly, and she snatches up Orpheus, before making another leap, atempting to get clear before SKyheart even realizes that she kidnaped the poor dove.
Skyheart perks his head up at his hailing. "Huh?" WHUMP! "Oof!" A little foal just plopped onto his back. He snaps out a wing to stop Blue Feather's escape. "You need to learn to say, please." He's certainly getting used to that. He gently folds the wings shut and gives a 'one moment' motion to Bardigan and then looks back at the offender. Orpheus isn't entirely pleased it seems. "Now come on... What do you say? If you want to play with Orpheus you have to be polite about it."
"I simply have to tell you- oh." Bardigan comes to a halt and settles down on all fours. "Your little friend is still following you about, hmm?" he asks, fondly bemused by the lecturing tone he takes with the filly.
BlueFeather does not respond well to having her excape blocked, as she goes from playfull, to full on panic in less than a heartbeat. Orpheus is droped, allmost emediatly, as she chirps something sharp and rapid, her own wings flicking out wide, and taking the only rought of excape thats left to her, well, actualy, there are two, one to the front, one to the rear, guess wich one she takes?
Orpheus looks at himself as he he's dropped, shaking a bit to get the slobber off of him. Skyheart chuckles, not entirely noticing this. "Well she-" WHAP! As the foal bounds on top of his head to escape, the sound of high-pitched chirping and then the ringing of his ears are the only thing the poet hears for a while. He seems rather knocked senseless.
"By Celestia's swirly mane!" Bardigan yelps as Bluefeather goes ballistic. "Bluefeather! Wait. Wait, little one, calm down," he pleads, keeping his wings in to make himself look less threatening. He holds up his front hooves, ready to catch if she goes bolting. "No need for that. See? Nopony's trying to hurt you... wide open spaces and friendly ponies here."
BlueFeather expects its a bit late to be preventing her from bolting, her flying leap off Sky's head, then flap of her wings, gets her a good bit of speed allready, and high enough into the air that shes not going to be that easy to catch. Bard's atempt to to calm her down, sadly having the opasite effect, causing her to leap into motion just as soon as her hooves touch the ground, wings faning to help increase her speed, aiming for the closist bit of shelter she can find
Skyheart sighs. "I guess I should blame myself for that." He looks back at the bird. "You okay, Orpheus?" The bird shakes a bit before flying off to the lake to clean. Skyheart looks back at Bardigan. "So what is it you were going to tell me?"
Chalice_Flame notices Orpheus coming to the lake, "Oh hi there, what could have happened to you?".
Bardigan looks over his shoulder as Bluefeather bolts away. "Shouldn't somepony...?" he wonders, but seeing Skyheart not going after her, he decides it's probably best if he doesn't force the issue. Sky has more experience with her, after all. "Well, the mood was rather ruined by that," he mutters, but then turns back to Skyheart and puts a hoof on his chest. "But I'll do my best. Skyheart, I've got something very important to tell you, so please, try to restrain yourself." He reaches forward and puts his hooves on the other stallion's shoulders, leaning forward until the brim of his hat touches Sky's forehead. "I must warn you. It may affect our future together."
BlueFeather darts behind a tree and seems to disapear, or at lest, she does not come out the other side of the tree, weather shes hiding behind the tree, well, someone would have to look. She does watch whats going on behind her, if only to make sure she has gotten away, her tail twitching as she watches Bard lean close, and kiss Skyheart. What? Thats what it looks like to her!
Screenplay comes out of er cottage as she looks to the other ponies. sitting she watches
Skyheart looks up at Bardigan, ignoring the subtle uncomfrotableness of the scene presented. He meets the taller stallion right in the eye. "Then tell me."
"Skyheart, I've been doing a lot of thinking, recently. Thoughts about... suitability, and... what's appropriate for a healthy working relationship," Bardigan explains, not moving an inch closer or further away. His gaze is level, his voice even. Obviously this is something important. "About... how to find the right pony. The right one for the *job.* Skyheart... I've made a decision. And it involves you. Not *just* you, but..." He averts his gaze for half a second, looking almost... bashful. "Well, given that you're... my *friend*, I thought you should know first." He takes a deep breath. "Skyheart... dear Skyheart... I have chosen you."
"To be part of the chorus in my upcoming play. Congratulations."
BlueFeather continues to watch from the distance, its going to take something major to get her to come out in public again, her tail giving a little tiwtch, she can't hear whats being said, but, she thiks Bardigan has just preposed to Skyheart, considering how serious thay are looking and everything. Her wings give a little twitch and she really starts considering running off and telling DUsk, and Pinkie, and Firefly
Sunbeam catches sight of the goings on below, and circles to see if there was a picnic party or something fun happening.
Screenplay looks and caught what Bardigan had said and comes over. "Hum I'm not sure if Skyheart bends that way hon.." she says making sure not to speak too loadly
Chalice_Flame observes Skyheart and Bardigan together from where she's wading in the water, she can't make out what's being said either nor does she particurly care. She nods a greeting to Sunbeam.
Skyheart smiles. Hearing he got the part was real good news. Totally losing sense of what the scene may look like to other ponies, he gives his friend a quick hug. "Thanks. This means a lot to me."
Bardigan returns the hug with more than enough enthusiasm for them both. It may look like he's happy that Skyheart is in his hooves, but really, he's just happy the play is coming together. "I know! It's going to be amazing," he promises. "We have so much to plan! So much to do! So many ponies to invite."
BlueFeather continues watching, to see if Bardigan and Sky are going to kiss again, to seal the deal as it where, her tail twitching a little
Sunbeam drops lower from the skies, waving a hoof to Chalice as she curls in to land over in some clear grass.
Chalice_Flame walks out of the water. She gives each of her legs a quick shake off and then begins to walk towards Skyheart and Bardigan.
Screenplay loioks a bit comfused then ohs. "Now it makes sense.." she walks back to get someting to drink
Skyheart releases his friend and takes back his peronsal space, looking around for Orpheus. "I'm sure we'll have flyers about soon. So when do you want me showing up for rehearsal?" He asks.
Starfire is hover-flying beside Chance as they approached the hilly area, smooth and nearly silent as she moves. "Oh I do hope we get to see the Princess before long. This is so exciting!" looking around. "Ohh, quite the crowd out here tonight. I wonder what's going on?" gliding a bit ahead of him.
Chance smiles gently to Starfire and gives a light nod. "Yes, it will be nice to get the plans, well, planned. I'm sure Princess Celestia will wonderful for that role." He also glances about as Starfire does. "I'm not sure, but it seems like a nice night here for mingling."
Bardigan finally notices the other ponies nearby. He doesn't, however, notice the implications of what he and Skyheart were just doing. "Oh. Oh! Hello there you all!" he says, waving his hoof. "Welcome. Goodness, quite a crowd suddenly arrived, didn't it? As for rehearsals, we'll let you know. I haven't even told the other auditioners of their..." His gaze falls on Starfire, and he breaks out into a grin. "Speaking of which."
BlueFeather starts to slink off, wondering who she should tell first of the events she has seen happening here, her tail twitching, as she disapears farther into the woods
The pale pegasus trots into the area. Funny, for a winged equine, he tends to do a lot of walking. He goes over to the area he had selected for his new home. He pulls some blueprints out of his saddlebag and starts to look them over.
Skyheart looks around at the gathering crowd. "U-Um.... Well... I guess we should anounce it here, right? I mean, what better way to draw attention to it all, right?" He asks Bardigan. They're both totally blind to this, aren't they. Orpheus, by this point, has flown off to a tree, watching for now. The look in his eyes seem to scream 'please don't do anything stupid'.
Starfire nods to Chance and lands after he catches up. "Yeah, a lot of mingling out here tonight." folding her wings away gently. "Half of Ponyville must be out tonight...I wonder if there is a meteor shower or something up tonight." catching sight of Bardigan. "Oh, hello there!' eaving a hello with a hoof.
Chalice_Flame approaches closer, "Hi Skyheart, did you have a good party?, I left before it over all over because I got too tired".
Sunbeam smiles and makes her way towards everypony. She quietly mingles as well. It was nice to mingle, with no pony running or screaming. And this time, no bucket of bees. She sets the bucket down out of the way and looks around.
Screenplay comes back out as se looks around as she comes to a pony.. "Hum what's going on
"Oh yes! The party. Consider this your birthday present Sky," Bardigan says, nudging the other stallion with his elbow. He then turns back to the crowd, clearing his throat. "Ahem! Starfire! I have something wonderful to tell you. It involves me and Skyheart here as well. You'll want to hear this!" He waves a little frantically at the mare, beckoning her to come on over.
Sugar_Rush continues looking over the blueprints. He paces out certain rooms, trying to get an idea of how the house will be laid out once it is actually built. He doesn't seem to notice the other ponies about.
Skyheart smiles and looks at the other ponies, standing proudly beside Bardigan. Those without context would easily get the wrong idea, but neither of them are thinking about this.
Starfire perks an ear and trots on over while Chance does his deep thinking. After all, that more urgent beckoning had to have a reason. "What happened?" she asks, looking around. "Did the party end already?"
Bardigan shakes his head, still waving his hoof until Starfire gets close enough for him to throw it around her shoulders. The other goes around Skyheart again. "Gentleponies, you may or may not have seen me going about town recently... getting things together for a very certain, very special event! Well, let me tell you that *we* are now ready to move on to the next stage! The second tier! Because these two ponies have been chosen by *me*...! To be cast in The Night of Two Moons!" He turns to Starfire, still smiling. "You, my dear, have landed the very role you auditioned for. Congratulations.
Skyheart looks over to Bardigan at the news. Well what role was he selected for then? Then again, he doesn't know much about the play as a whole. "Er... What role is that?" He asks.
Starfire blinks, then looks to Bardigan. "You must be joking....I thought you rather liked Rarity for her stage knowledge and performance skills...I mean, I'm honored...but I really don't know anything about acting." curling her ears back. "I mean...nopony's ever thought I was a good actor."
Chance has been standing around, listening and watching everypony. He grins lightly as Bardigan talks to Starfire. "I would love to see you perform in the play. I'm sure it'll be wonderful with you in it."
Chalice_Flame nods,"What a shame I'm planning to be out of town, sounds good".
Screenplay ohs as she then here's what is going on as she ohs. Comig over she looks around. "Hey had anypony seen Applejack?'
Sugar_Rush is now over by the pond. He looks at the plans, then the pond..."Hmmm..."
Bardigan nearly scoffs at Skyheart. "Why, the chorus of course! You auditioned for it, remember?" he says with a little tug around Skyheart's neck. He swivels back to Starfire on his other leg and gives her a gentle smile. "My dear, we wouldn't have picked you if we didn't believe in you. Now show some of the gumption you did when you first came to us! Be happy! This is going to be a great honor! And great fun as well. And we already have crowds *lining* up!" He nods at the rest of the ponies present with a mirthful wink. "Get used to getting looked at, my friends."
Skyheart looks around at the crowd with a bit of a gulp. He sweats a bit as he sees all the eyes on him. This was why he liked hiding behind his writing.
Starfire smiles to Chance, still a little nervous. "Well, allright...it can't be harder than looking proper for royal passengers, can it?"
Bardigan cradles the two upcoming stars under his hooves, chuckling. "Starfire, we have miss Rarity herself making the costumes... we won't have to worry about looking proper in the slightest."
Bardigan lifts his wings indignantly. "Embarrass?!" he says, looking affronted. "Hardly! I'd never think of making actors who will be going on-stage to represent the glory of our esteemed ruler-" He gives Starfire a little shake around the shoulders, "-and to help narrate one of the greatest, most personal tragedies *involving* said ruler-" and here he shakes Skyheart, "-embarrassed! Why, that'd just be counter-productive." Well, maybe a *little* embarrassed... he does love the expression of new-found actors when they realize the depth and gravity of their position.
( "Hey! Hey! Wait up!" cries a brash little voice as a soft little buzzing carries over the hills. Zooming in and braking to a sudden stop, Scootaloo yanks off her helmet (leaving her mane tussled in true Rainbow Dash fashion) and dismounts her scooter, grinning at Bardigan so brightly that it wouldn't be a surprise if a rainbow shot right out of her mouth. "I heard there was some kinda audition going on! Is there where you sign up to be Rainbow Dash's pet?" )
Bardigan looks down at Scootaloo as she comes barreling up to him. His hooves drop away from Starfire and Skyheart, going back to helping him sit. His jaw slowly drops down as what she just said sinks in. Something inside him seems to suddenly turn over, and he goes into full on awkwardly-panic mode. "Oh. Er... why..." He shies away in the face of that huge grin with those big, hopeful eyes, wincing and biting his lip. "It... I'm afraid... the role... has already been cast," he says as delicately as he can. "Yes. Yes, that part has been taken! By a... uh, a falcon or... some other awesome... thing." He's seen an animal flying around with her recently, or something. That's probably it. "But! There's more to look forward to! In fact, a space just opened up for Rainbow Dash's... mane stylist! Yes. Skyheart can help you with that." He grabs the other pegasus and pushes him forward. "He's an expert. I need to go... do directorial things. Farewell!" And he runs away before anypony can stop him.
Bardigan wanders the pond's perimeter with a thoughtful expression and a scroll in his hooves. He flaps along, talking to himself as he seems to read aloud from the parchment. By the sound of it, it's very important and officious! "... But what do I gain when it is done for the sake of it? What deep ponderings, what dark and mighty things are worth the reaching? ...
