You know I figured Pegasi might have thier own terminology for things, considering some of them have probably never set hoof out of cloudsdale. Since some pegasi might be so far removed from other ponies, (Being able to walk on clouds, and such) figured they'd have their own terms for things too. Here are a few I've come up with! What do you think?
Suds
Slang term used to describe fluffy clouds.
Elite
Term used to describe rare breed of pegasi that have above average abilities. These often leave contrail behind them at top speed. (Rainbow Dash, Firefly)
Bolt-Head
Term Used to describe a Wonderbolt's fan.
Nudge
Derogatory term used to describe a pegasus whom was allegedly 'nudged' off a cloud after birth and before learning to fly. Often in reference to orphans.
Cloud Kids
Term used to describe young pegasi
Flame Flank
A term used to describe injuries gained via crash landings, akin to ‘road rash’
Ants
Derogatory term used to describe ponies or creatures who cannot fly.
Ant Hill
Derogatory term used to describe towns established by earth ponies or unicorns.
Pearls
Another word for ‘stars’ Also Diamonds, Coins, Twinkles
Sky Rats
Another word for ‘pigeons’
Crash Corps
Organization that respond to reports of crashed pegasi, equip with emergency training and equipment for dire situations. Mostly located around Pegasus only establishments. Akin to ‘911’ responders.
Grounders Collar
Magical collar worn around the neck that creates a field of gravity around the wearer. This limits flight of any kind, until the collar is removed. Often used by non pegasi law enforcement for prisoners.
Feather Flu
Common cold that occuars in pegasi every now and then. Symptoms include fever, sore throat, nausea, and feathers changing colors from normal to flushed or pale. Often includes losing feathers at random until cured.
Icarus Syndrome
Disease contracted by remaining in sustained flight past the ‘ice cap’ Symptoms include darkening of the skin, and loss of senses as such taste, touch, sight etc. Most cases are considered ‘terminal’
Ice Cap
The height most pegasi can fly to, before the air becomes to thin to breathe and ice begins to form on the extremities.
Sick Twist
Term used to describe a 'cool' aerobatic stunt or maneuver.
Hang Time
Term used to describe the time from when a Pegasus jumps to landing, without any additional flying maneuvers.
Rainbow Factory
Urban legend (Akin to the pony with the hook for a hoof scraping at the ground, or the earth pony lost in the woods) that pretains to a myth that rainbows are created from captured pegasi or pegasi that fail thier flight tests. Often used to scare foals.
