Note: This does not end the Bloom Doll TP. It is a supplement to further its story content. It immediately follows: The Bloom Doll: Sun of the Night
Location: Whitetail Wood
Cast: Celestia, Virga.
----
VIRGA
It had been for naught, all of it. The Doll lost an eye, but he lost more than that. The boom that destroyed the grand balcony was heard for miles around Canterlot and the lower lying land; purely his doing in a fight with that wicked thing. Yet, he escaped. In his fall he struggled to snap his wings open. All he could do was glide. The palace had been appropriately built high, but now his un-powered flight came to and end. Virga hit the ground among trees he'd not seen in a great while, uprooting the soil. The icy mist that clung to his wings weakly dispersed. He made it, but to almost nowhere. The things that doll conjured in his mind near paralyzed him.
CELESTIA
Celestia ran as fast as she could, straight away from the palace and into the woods. Not over the river, but definitely through the woods. And it's not even to get to Grandmother's house. It's to get as far away as possible from that crazed Bloom Doll and her former life. She swept through as quick as she could before, suddenly, running into a remnant of her former life that crashed into the ground deep within the trees. "..." Earth-Pony-Celly sneaked closer to the crash-landed Virga, her eyes showing a last little glimmer of hope. Finally? Could someone finally possibly recognize her?
VIRGA
Trees. Endless trees; so many trees it almost felt like home in Everfree. But then --Flaming Firefly-- his thoughts were interrupted by things he feared. That doll--Raging Luna--and everything--Carnivorous Celestia eating foals-- had him shaking his head. Poor Virga had been through too much in the last week. His fur was ragged, his feathers unkempt, cuts and abrasions. it appeared some pony or thing had thoroughly pushed Celestia's prize guard to the limits. His silver eyes focused on those trees--Dr. Pinkamina--and he curled in on himself. "Forgive me...I've flown...everywhere. To the borders, remote lands. I can't find you..." he spoke to himself, having not realized an Earth pony had come upon him.
CELESTIA
Soooooooo many trees. It's almost easy to lose track of where you are in the midst of them all. Rather crazy, really. "…Virga?" the Princess-in-cognito asked hesitantly as she steps towards the crumpled pegasus. "Vir…Virga? Is that you? Do you, do you recognize me?" Her big, brown eyes stared up at him.
VIRGA
Virga's ears turned back when he heard the voice, one that was unfamiliar to him. He slowly opened his wings against the ground, seeing her face to face. Who was this, and how did she know his name? "How long have you been there..?" he asked. "You know my name...who are you? Did I become trapped in another time spell?" He uncomfortably shoved his weight onto his side, but his wings made it difficult to move at all. They'd been strained beyond limitations, yet somehow he managed to not break them. As he moved, the concentration in her eyes had him...simmer. They were almost nose to nose, strangers. "What year is it...?"
CELESTIA
"I am Celestia, Virga," the pony said quietly, moving another inch closer to him. "Celestia. Your Princess." Her voice remained soft and subdued. She tried this time and time before, but to no avail. "No. You are here, now. But everything is in danger. It is the fault of that...doll." Brown Celly closed her eyes and stepped up next to the broken pony. She pressed her forehead against a portion of his body upon which the wounds seemed particularly greivous. "You will heal. We will all heal. But first...we must heal ourselves."
VIRGA
She, Celestia? Ordinarily he was one to question such a change, but that doll was discordian. Discord did many things that defied reason, yet it wasn't 'her'. Fear said impostor taking advantage of his mind that had been so weakened. Virga was in no condition to protest her touch, but he did twitch and flinch when she did. That doll, it did it here again. He feared the touch of his own Princess, and he didn't feel the relief. "You know of doll..." he said. "Doll warps things. Makes false memories and words..." He firmly pressed his brow against hers unintentionally strong but he couldn't control too much now. A broken pegasi is what she found. "How do I know what I hear is true...what you say is true? You speak of doll, you've been exposed. You think you are my Princess...I grow weak. You are not alicorn. Tell me, why I should trust your claim?" He peered at her with a stern look. Of course, impersonating Celestia would not be popular with her very own guard. There were things about him that only she would know from the time spent in her study, and if she couldn't speak them…
CELESTIA
"Yes. I do know of the doll," the semi-sorta-Celly pony said as she pulled her head away from the pegasus. "Because what incentive do I have to lie? And because you know it deep within your heart. Even if your mind, your eyes, your ears, and all of your senses say otherwise."
VIRGA
Virge kept his glower; he wanted to believe it, but anyone could say those words. The ends of his wings faintly glimmered with ice crystals. "I am...Celestia's guard. I must count all possibilities, pony, that I am to be deceived. If I believed words any pony could speak--what incentive do I have to lie--then I'd not have been asked to become her private guard." He moved his front legs, clomping his hooves in the dirt as he tried to lift himself onto his hooves. They too blemished with ice. "I therefore ask you, pony, what that thing which my Princess showed me before asking that question. Only she would know this."
CELESTIA
"A book. An ancient book, written in a script. It appeared you might understand, an indication of what you might be or perhaps what you might have been," Celestia-kinda said immediately in response to his request.
VIRGA
The first mention of the book softened Virga's gaze, thus the mention of it being ancient and in a script unknowable to many in the modern day softened him further. "A book...1,000 years old. You saw a connection to crystals, a thing that vanished, why my name is in only one book with no footnotes." The pegasi spread his wings only to beckon her closer. No doll could tell him that. No doll could manifest that kind of truth. "I am...weak, but strong, my Princess. Come to me, that should you not reclaim the throne I will remain at your side." He settled down, flinching as he took the weight off his hooves. "Sanctuary...I will be your sanctuary. Should I throw a signal that one of your six mares, hopefully, detects it?"
CELESTIA
Celestia settled down next to the guard as he beckoned her closer, pulling in beneath his wing as best she could. "Yes. If you can at all. It is the least little bit we can do to try and help save this poor world," the Princess almost whispers. "And perhaps, then, there is some hope for it. But for now, I think I need some sleep, VIrga."
VIRGA
"I will, Celestia," he said. "Only the faithful will see." This would cost him very much, to do this for her. He filed his wing about her altered form and ensured that she was close. It was good timing, very good timing. "Sleep...your health is more than mine." His free wing stiffened and blazed cold with ice, his Talent having been used once this day would take him beyond his threshold. It had to be done. Her survival was more than his. Virga close his eyes and kept his Princess tightly close. Brightness emanated forth from Whitetail Forest at his expense. The dark pegasi, Celestia's pegasi, then knew only blackness. Whomever found Celestia would find him at her side.
This does not end the Bloom Doll TP. Another is on assignment to find Celestia. Only then will this TP begin to truly end.
To all present within the vicinity of Ponyville through Whitetail, Virga's iridescent ice beacon and moon rings are visible in the sky.
