It is early in the afternoon and Medley has found herself in the studio with Vinyl Scratch once again to work on another song that has been bugging the back of her mind for a few weeks. It seemed that she has finally been able to scratch the itch that was driving her crazy and put her lyrics down to paper. Now, it was time to sing!
As she rocked back and forth in front of the microphone within the sound proofed room, she give her friend a nod through the two way glass, then started to sing once the rumble of piano, guitar and drums came to life. It only took her a few seconds for the lyrics to come out, beautiful, crystal clear and full of emotion. As always, she loses herself within the music, immersing herself in the tempo, cadence and melody.

The earth is shaking under siege
And every breath will meet it's fate
Still we hunger for a moment of freedom
Even though the hour is late
[Chorus]
I find hope and it gives me rest
I find hope in a beating chest
I find hope in what eyes don't see
I find hope in your hate for me
Have no fear when the waters rise
We can conquer this great divide
When every eye is on the fortune
It can only breed contempt
They say blood is thicker than oceans
Still we box our brothers in
[Chorus]
I find hope and it gives me rest
I find hope in a beating chest
I find hope in what eyes don't see
I find hope in your hate for me
Have no fear when the waters rise
We can conquer this great divide
And we're gone
And we're gone
And we're holding on
And we're holding on
And we're holding on
I find hope and it gives me rest
I find hope in a beating chest
I find hope in what eyes don't see
I find hope in your hate for me
Have no fear
Have no fear when the waters rise
We can conquer this great divide

As the last notes taper off, Medley listens to the playback through the headphones, clenching her eyes shut as she tries to focus on every note, hoping that it is perfect before she has to make a final cut of it. With a look to her friend through the glass, she can see that she is all smiles and bobbing excitedly in her chair. It seems that Vinyl at least enjoyed it.
As she slides off the chair and heads out to greet her in the other room, Medley leans in against her shoulder and reaches out to tap the 'finish' button on the control panel, recording it to the spinning record.
