Setting: Whitetail Wood, just outside of Everfree Forest.
Characters:
Crunch [Male Dragon]
An adolescent dragon, Crunch is still growing into his body. His arms are long for the rest of him and often hang, thick and ape-like, at his sides. His wings are barely enough to support him in flight and already show a few nicks along their edges, signs of a rough-and-tumble life. Scales of a dark, murky, lackluster green cover most of him, while a swath of pale sickly yellow covers his throat, chest and belly, the same color as his wing webbing. A pair of short, inwardly-curved black horns sit atop his head and beneath them a pair of ear fins droop apathetically. One venom-yellow eye permanently squints, the other wide and alert. Finally, the source of his namesake -- a club that's about the size of a pony's head sways menacingly at the end of his tail, which is always held above the ground, ready to strike.
Blaze [Male Earth Pony?]
On a glance he's maybe nothing too out of the ordinary, but get a little closer to this certain somepony, and some things about him start to seem... Hmmm, unusual. Maybe it's the way his bright yellow silken pelt hangs off him a bit oddly, with strange dips and bulges here and there, especially on his back. And, well, one has to wonder what he's been through, with all of those stitches! His intelligence also has to be questioned with the vacant stare held in those placid blue eyes. Why, they're almost button-like. Kinda creepy, really. Otherwise, he looks... almost passably normal. A cute white daisy adorns his flank, and a bright green mop-mane and tail compliments the touch of greenery nicely. If only his stance and gait weren't so noticably awkward and sometimes seemingly labored. Just one of those ponies that isn't comfortable in his own skin, perhaps?

Blaze is fine, if anyone was worried..they'll find the dragon is doing better than ever! Why would they worry anyway, come on. Those bullies sent him away in the first place! If any of them remembered correctly, he was last seen wearing some potato sack in yellow. Kill Bill style. Same ugly costume can be found in Whitetail Wood! Why, he is picking flowers around the forest. Half wearing the costume, the other half free with a basket. Also using his tail to provide some dim pink light-so he doesn't wake the flowers since it's past midnight.
Worried? Hah! More like curious to see how Blaze is being tortured by his captors. Crunch should have known not to send a weakling to do a /real/ dragon's job, but why risk his own tail when Blaze could be bullied into the task? It was too easy. And no, Blaze's presence wasn't exactly missed. In fact, it was a while after he was supposed to report back that anyone even noticed he was gone! Now that they have, though, his old 'friends' have come to check up on him. SNAP! A branch somewhere in the direction of the forest cracks suddenly, followed by a louder crunch and the sound of growling. "Chomp, you idiot! STEALTH! There could be enemies EVERYWHERE!" Even while he's berating his friend, Crunch blunders out of the forest into the clearing where Blaze is picking flowers, trampling several underfoot uncaringly. When he spots "Sunflower", his eyes narrow under a frown. "YOU! ...Over here, fellas!" Chomp, a portly bright red dragon appears shortly, folllowed by Scratch and Slash, a pair of snake-like sisters. Each leers at Blaze in turn as they come into view.
It's been so long since Blaze heard of his friends, he has new and better friends so he had almost forgotten about them. And it was good. The sounds of the forest don't scare him anymore, there's the cottage right ...over there, in case he needed shelter, or if he was running from something. So the faux pony keeps gathering flowers from this trees over here, and oh look at those plants over there! And YOU! Blaze drops the basket and hugs his tail with both arms, blowing at the tip to 'kill' the fire- so they don't make fun at it. Blaze dragon sighs and tries to find shelter behind his wings, waggling fingers at the dragon posse, "..hey, fellas. It's..i-it's good to see you here." He tries to sound excited but can't; missed the exclamation mark there.
Crunch stomps over, flattening several more flowers on his way (it almost seems like he goes out of his way a bit just to do it), and startling a pair of field mice that go scampering away in terror, to his satisfaction. Okay, so they're just mice, but invoking terror is always satisfying! "Good to ssssee us?" Scratch hisses. "That must be why he didn't come back." Slash replies with a snide smile. "Why -didn't- you come back?" Crunch asks, his tone already accusatory. "We thought you'd been captured by the enemy. Now we come all this way to rescue you, just to find you out here..." He glances at the dropped basket, which still has a few blossoms in it, raising a brow and fixing Blaze with a pointed look. "Picking -flowers-? What gives?!"
Sunflower's left eye falls down in terror with one those heavy stomps. It's THAT terrifying! Blaze hides behind wings and Snuflower's face now. Quickly turning to look at Scratch, ducking his head and turning to Slash. Finally swallowing and murmuring under the faux pony chin; because by now it's almost like he was hiding inside a potato sack completely, "I..I kinda..well." He looks to one side, not..looking at the cottage, nope! He wouldn't be that stupid. After gazing at Bumble's place for a few seconds, he bravely turns back to the dragons and states! "I'm hiding, one of them is letting me live with them. I'm...I'm kinda learning their weaknesses and all that." While the other dragons are strong and all about rawr! Blaze here is a little smarter than them and all about brains!
Crunch may not be the smartest dragon. But he's -always- suspicious. So Blaze's story gets a squinty-eyed stare of disbelief. His leering gaze also follows Blaze's towards Bumble's cottage for a few seconds, before pinning on Blaze again. "Your time's up. So what weaknesses -have- you found out about?" "Yeah?" Chomp adds densely. Might as well get as much information as possible before ruining the little bugger's life, after all. "If I didn't know better, I'd say he -wanted- to stay with them." Scratch accuses, prodding a claw at Blaze's side.
Blaze decides to sit, or maybe the pressure and gravity brought the dragon to park his rear right there. Cowering behind the costume. He considers weaknesses, and if he knows of any..there's no way he is going to share that with them! "Well I.." He stops and looks at Scratch, shaking his head quickly! "No no! Of course n-n-not, well maybe for a few more weeks..but I was gonna go back!"
Scratch doesn't look convinced, and neither does Crunch. "You're -useless-. I should've known better than to send a pathetic little shmuck like -you- out here as a scout." Crunch growls. "Why should we let you stay out here another few weeks if you haven't even found anything out about them in all this time? I oughtta pummel you all the way back to our cave." His clubbed tail sways eagerly. "I have a better idea, bosssss!" Slash speaks up, and the leader's head tilts curiously in her direction. "Let's burn down the house he's staying in. Then we'll find out how he -really- feels about these... poniessssss." Hissss. Slash and Scratch aren't as dumb as their counterparts, but their intelligence has much more malice behind it than Blaze's.
Blaze is about to elaborate, he must have an ace under Sunflower's face somewhere. It's Slash's suggestion gives the poor dragon the chills. They wouldn't dare, right? He steps up to the bullies, or kind of stands up. Facing Crunch, "I wouldn't do that.." He softly offers, looking around the forest. Some houses he can see from here, others are there hiding behind trees, "Ponies have magic.. And not like breathing fire, no." This is pure honesty, he sounds scared, but he blames his 'friends'. The tone helps convincing just how terrible ponies are, "No, this is much cooler. It's like, they move things with their minds and ..I think one causes thunder. You should be careful." The last is said as he looks back to Slash.
Maybe the threat was empty, but the bully dragons seem quite capable of such an act, as extreme as it might be. Crunch narrows his eyes again and seems to consider this new information a moment before leaning in with a sneer, his muzzle about an inch from Blaze's and huffing his horrible breath into his face through bared teath. "You'd -better- not be lying, you little pipsqueak, or we'll make you wish you'd never crawled out of your egg." He warns. "If that's true, then it's -your- job to find out how we get around this... ponymagic. You have three days to find out. Three days. Right here. If you don't have something -useful- by then, we'll go with Slash's plan instead, and find out for ourselves. GOT IT?" He raises his voice and thumps the ground intimidatingly with his tail-club. THUNK!
Blaze has been sniffing flowers and honey.. for so long he had almost forgotten about Crunch's dead breath, he did not miss the sulphur. His ears pin behind his head as he clutches his dear tail tightly. This is when Blaze suddenly realizes the true meaning of magic, or friendship. He nods to the warning, quickly while taking a step back, "Y-yes, Crunch!" Jumping and nearly stumbling back at the sound, he did not miss the tail either, fits the attitude.
"Good." Crunch snorts, releasing a plume of acrid smoke in Blaze's direction. "We'll be back. C'mon, guys." And with that he turns and tromps back in the direction of the Everfree. The others follow, though Scratch lingers behind to stare evilly at Blaze for a moment before turning to slink after her leader.
Blaze whimpers to himself once..Crunch isn't breathing right on his face, the dragon sighs and looks down. The sight of the stomped and crushed flowers break his heart(s), tugging at Sunflower to adjust the coat, hide the shame of his wings under potatosack-face. Finally grabbing his basket and looking up to see Scratch staring at him. He's convinced this aren't friends! After some seconds, he has enough courage to call back, as softly as a dragon can.. "..I wont do it..." Not even the trees heard that one.
