*With the eventual official opening of the muck, it is to be noted that upon its opening some things about Virga may change. He was designed with the intent on properly following the muck's timescale, and thus some mentions of things occurring after Episode 1-2 will be voided in his canon upon the official Muck Start. (i.e. mentions by Rainbow Dash about Discord's second defeat when it hasn't happened yet, or the Mane 6 in the Hearth Warming play). His relationships with characters WILL NOT be altered. If anything to go by in terms of "officially starts here", the past logs count as significant weight to defining Virga, though officially his role in Equestria starts with this very log. I'm glad you guys could help me so much through RP to give him such a nice prologue prior to the below event. <3

VIRGA
There had been reports. The new Pegasi known as Virga had recovered from his wounds sustained in the unexplained fall over Canterlot on that night many weeks ago. These reports were of the kind that spoke of exactly 'what' Virga might be, from subtle control over the water in a tea cup to the commanding aura of the clouds, specifically snow and ice, that exhibited an eldritch horror of control unseen since the days of old when alicorns were great in number. Chances were, the prowess of Virga according to these reports may have been greater than Firefly, and possibly even as dangerous in their own right as either Princess. Witnesses reported his Mark being of a chaotic Talent honed, this Pegasi to be deemed likely more noble of blood than most living this day. And currently that Pegasi silently soared through the same balcony on which he crashed, the essence of hoarfrost and fog pluming upon his landing. He folded his wings and peered around, searching for the Princess he promised to see after his recovery. So much reported, and yet still he was a mystery.
CELESTIA
Admittedly, it was moderately surprising to even the Princess that Virga was able to recover so quickly as he had. Truly, Twilight and her friends had a great talent for solving problems. And Virga's problem was very quickly solved. As to the question of what Virga is, however, Celestia is not nearly so worried. Sure, there is the strong possibility that he is something from an old and ancient source - but ultimately, he is simply a pony. One with emotions and cares, one with desires and needs. And regardless, he needs to know the welcome and love that all ponies in Equestria ought to have. The Princess of the Sun, for her parts, is in her study, having finished her duties for the day and now working on her final letters.
VIRGA
Virga spent a moment viewing the Palace room. It felt different compared to the last time he'd been here, perhaps because he could actually take in its grandeur. A servant pointed him in the right direction to the Princess's study, his voice almost the barest minimum of a whisper. "I've returned as I said I would," he said, his ears standing straight. In truth, the only need he had was being healed, though desire was another matter entirely and yet he wasn't quite sure what he desired.
CELESTIA
Celestia continues her work silently, her eyes scanning over letter after letter before penning up a response. So much to do, so little time... such a common theme for a monarch such as Celestia. "Hm?" she hums softly before turning her head up to look towards the returning pegasus. "I am glad that you did," she offers quietly in return, gesturing for him to come forward. "Please, would you like some tea? Something to eat?"
VIRGA
"Some tea, please?" he said as he stepped forward. The injured Virga would have been more spoken, but the healed Virga had little to say. To keep everything confined to as few words as possible was the idea, as the Princess had much to do. That, and she didn't enjoy long winded sentences anyhow. He sat across from Celestia, his silver eyes watching her. He wasn't like other ponies; he didn't power, didn't lower his head, none of that. Perhaps in some way he felt equal to her but not fully equal and certainly not above her.
CELESTIA
"Of course," The Princess responds softly. She doesn't even need to say a word beyond that - a servant appears a few moments later with a piping hot teabag. They open up a chest of teas before Virga for him to make his section. Letting him take a moment to choose, the Princess gives him a little smile before shimmering over a book. "Read the first few lines of this book," she requests of the dark pegasus, the ancient-looking tome opening up to reveal a strange, ancient script that bears only faint resemblance to modern pony writing.
VIRGA
Virga calmly chose his tea: Rumbastion Black, the Thinking Pony's Tea(tm). The dark Pegasi then peered over at the book she pushed over to him. How clever, asking him to read such an old book right out of recovery. It was true that he had been reading several older books, some not in Modern Pony, but in Middle Pony, and one in Old Pony. This, however, was even older to the point of being Antiquated Pony, something his eyes did recognized though he wasn't sure where from. "In the warmth of the Sun, all ponies shall have means to grow and nourish; in the dark of the night, all ponies shall have comfort and rest. In the dawn, they shall have blessings of the day past. In the twilight, they shall have the knowledge of the new day. In every day, they shall have bonds measured not in things accomplished, but the company kept."
CELESTIA
Celestia sits silently as he lets the pony read. She does, of course, notice the tea selection that she makes - and she notes the high class of taste with which the pegasus's tongue holds itself. Truly, Rumbastion Black of the tea for only the most thoughtful ponies of Equestria. The tea that wakes the mind - the tea that stirs the spirit. Rumbastion Black, the Thinking Pony's Tea (tm). "It is truly amazing, Virga, that you are able to read that," the Princess comments as the book is engulfed in a colored aura and closes before floating away. "It is old. So old that even my memory must stretch back to be able to remember how to read it. So old that I cannot remember if I spoke it, or if I learned it as an ancient language as a filly."
VIRGA
Yes, Rumbastion Black was utterly of the most top shelf thinking, huzzah! Even Virga thought it as he sipped its delicate flavors. He watched the book float away and peered at her. "This writing was everywhere that I recall," he said. "The Modern Pony is alien to me, but I had seen it before."
CELESTIA
"The question is, dear Virga," Celestia thinks as she summons herself some Rumbastion Green Tea - Soothes the Mind, Opens the Pores, Massages the Spirit (tm). "Whether this language is one you spoke, or one you learned." The Princess pauses and leans in closer towards the strange, almost unearthly pegasus. "What are you?"
VIRGA
What was he, indeed? Another report claimed his manipulation of ice and snow had more akin to chaos and disorder than weather manipulation. And he did have that little talk about Two Moons, and Discord with Luna. However, he knew only one thing for certain...just one. "Dragonslayer, Pegasi-At-Arms. That is all I know."
CELESTIA
Celestia turns her eyes up to bore them into Virga's own. "Dragons..." Celestia mutters beneath her breath before she pulls back away from him and turns to look out the window. "You know, our Wonderbolts originated as dragonslayers, many aeons ago."
VIRGA
Virga stared right back into Celestia's eyes, wondering what went on in that mind of hers. Alicorns were unpredictable at times, though so few even existed here. Perhaps the two sisters were the only ones left. He could change that, but that was a naughty thought from a more base part of his mind. "I believe they may have been known as Undrbout at that time?" he said. Perhaps, perhaps not. Only Celestia could confirm that one.
CELESTIA
"That is, perhaps, one way to refer to them," the Princess responds softly. "Another would be the Vnderbultzen. Another might even be the Wonderus Bolteri. Or perhaps, even older, the Vndbut," Celestia's voice grows soft. "Perhaps you have seen that pegasi safeguard the weather here?" Celestia continues. "And that the Wonderbolts are pegasi? And that most of them hail from Cloudsdale, where the weather is made?"
VIRGA
So many names, and yet all of them were familiar in some degree, though not as much as Undrbout. Again he sipped his Thinking Pony's Tea(tm) and contemplating her words. "I've heard of this from Rainbow Dash and others," he said. "But the city I am not familiar with."
CELESTIA
"It all is connected, going back many years," Celestia says calmly. "Pegasi are, by their nature, closely tied to the weather. It is something tied to their very core - and the Wonderbolts are no exception to that. That is why I am very sure that you are not lying when you claim to be a 'dragonslayer'." The Princess sips her tea once again.
VIRGA
Virga knew this, being Pegasi, though he wondered where she would go with this subject. He already demonstrated his skill with weather, his Talent, and apparently the ability to become horrific while doing so given his mannerisms of control. With Firefly, he thought perhaps Luna would have taken an interest eventually in him--maybe she did and just didn't express it, but Celestia was unlike her in this respect, openly addressing the issue. "There is a reason for this discussion aside from discerning my memory and truthfulness."
CELESTIA
"Of course there is," the Princess comments quietly in return. She continues staring at the strange pony for a long moment, sipping from her tea and rolling thoughts in her mind. "Would you like to become a member of my private guard, Virga?" she asks almost from nowhere.
VIRGA
She stared at him. He stared back. The silence was palpable, irresistibly so. He had no way of knowing what she would say or ask, though when the question arose from her mind it turned the gears. She wanted him close; his abilities would be helpful, but it would keep him close for her observation. What smarts! He expected this of her, though not that exact request. "Go on," he said, curious as to why she'd suddenly ask him about a position that meant close to unrestricted access.
CELESTIA
"You would be beyond simply the normal Royal Guard. You would be a part of my private attachment," the Princess continues quietly. "Almost like a... squire," she says with a little smile, thinking of Luna's term. "I think it is something you would quite enjoy. And as I learn more about you, I can give you duties that are better suited."
VIRGA
Private attachment? It was an occupation, and he told Firefly he was looking for something to do in his new home. He slowly canted his head, sipping the tea. "This would mean I would be bound to you in the same way Firefly is bound to Princess Luna, am I right?" he said. "That I could be summoned at any time?"
CELESTIA
Celestia smiles. "Yes," she responds quietly.
VIRGA
Perhaps the only time Virga would lower his head for anything was this. He closers his eyes and lay his head on the desk, careful of her letters. It was obvious he felt he needed to repay her even more for the care she had given him, and for seeking him out after leaving the Palace. What better way to do so? It also wasn't like he had any clear ideas of what to do that was outside his expertise. "Then, if you wish it, I will be bound in this manner."
CELESTIA
"I do wish it. Then I will install you tomorrow, when I am presiding over the affairs officially," the Princess says with a little smile. "I promise to make good use of you, Virga. I look forward to seeing what you can do."
VIRGA
Virga raised his head. He didn't second think the offer at all because there was nothing to second think. "I've only two questions," he said, smiling back at her. "What is my exact title under this particular guard and secondly, is it possible to have any armor I might issued match my color?"
CELESTIA
"I think I will have to consider that title," the Princess responds to the first question with a little smile. "And yes... yes, I think that we could definitely ensure that we have some custom armor made for you. One that matches the color of your coat most excellently."
VIRGA
"Would there be anything else you'd need to know of me?" he asked. Of course, there were things she needed to know, such as his history eventually--he needed to know them too. But, for now, it pertained solely to the job he had just been granted.
CELESTIA
"Not now. I will request more of you in time." She takes a final sip of her tea before smiling to him tenderly. "You will be an interesting tome to read, Virga. I look forward to it."
VIRGA
Something about her words turned his ears pink. For now, he simply sipped his tea and sat there with her, rather enjoying the quiet night.
