Marble Memory arrives home from a busy day doing nothing interesting whatsoever to find... it's quiet. Too quiet. Vinyl Scratch and Rewind must still be out, but... there's no Sky Blue. In fact, the pegasus pony hasn't seen her all day... A note has been stapled to the wall opposite the front door.
Marble sees the STAPLED note, screams, and runs to the other end of the room to rip away the note and check the state of the wall. Pony has his priorities.
There's a couple of small holes where the staple has been imbedded, but something potentially more distressing is upon the note, written in what looks like crayon: HOWDI MARBL HOP U DONT MIND BT NO SKOOL TODAYY SO TOOK THUNDAFAWR ON TRIP TU HAYGUS BCK SUN LUV SKI BLU
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Marble shrieks, then runs back out the door, taking wing, and flying into the air, not bothering to close the door behind him.
Far away, Sky Blue and Thunderfire are sitting on tall stools about a card table in Las Haygas, a cocktail set before each of them and with each pony holding a hoof of cards. The hayseed seems to be struggling. Not so much with holding the cards, but more with what each card is worth. "Psst," she hisses, leaning over to Thunderfire and glancing sidelong at him. "Is this hoof any good?" She shows the foal a full house.
Thunderfire is slurping his drink with a straw and feeling rather buzzed. Looking at Blue's bunch of cards he nods his head quickly. Looking at his own hoof, he pushes something towards the middle representing his bet, before letting out a -hic-...
Sky Blue sets her cards face down on the table, then pushes a small stack of her own chips in to the middle of the table, before sipping delicately at her third cocktail. The player to the clockwise of Sky Blue shows his cards: three of a kind. The next player shows a flush. The next two pair. All that's left is the player to the right of Thunderfire and the foal himself to determine who wins thirty thousand bits.
Thunderfire lays out his cards showing a three of a kind as well. He takes some popcorn, putting it into his muzzle munching it.
"WOOHOO!" Sky Blue leans forward and starts scooping the big pile of chips towards her, accidentally waving her plot in the air. "That's one heck of a load of chips! What d'y'all reckon we should do with them, Thunderfawr?" the world's best foalsitter asks her ward. "Reckon we should hit the slots? Get one of them fancy hotel suites and get a big load of room service?"
"Get one of those big fancy suites! With the soft bouncy beds and order whatever we want!" Thunder grins. "Like more of this!" he lurps his cocktail until its finished.
Five minutes later, Sky Blue and Thunderfire are busy bouncing on the extra large bed in the Presidential Suite of the hotel portion of Hayser's Casino, piles of chips lying about the place. "Room service?" the hayseed calls into the speaker grill, admist bouncing. "Send up lawk a dozen of them fancy blue cocktails and a hundred cheesy hayburgers, with extra flowers and chips."
Thunderfire is bouncing around on the bed and then suddenly jumps off going to a trash bin. Sticking his head in, some very rough sounds can be heard before he laughs at himself and jumps back onto the bed, "WEEEEEEEEEEEEE...."
Ten minutes later, Sky Blue is lying on the bed admist several empty hayburger wrappers, melted cheese stuck about her mouth and onto the silk sheets, with a few empty cocktail glasses lying on the floor nearby. "This is the besht party EVER, Thunderfawr!" she declares, reaching over to hoof her nephew.
Thunderfire is drinking his second cocktail and eating his fifth hamburger. Hoofing Blu in return, he finally falls backwards rubbing his stomach, eyes rather swirling about he hiccups a few times, then passes out.
"Irreshponsible foalsitter mah fawn plot!" Sky Blue declares, downing another cocktail, before throwing the glass over her shoulder and taking a hungry bite out of another cheesy hayburger, splattering the bed with more sauce. "Thish has been... lawk... awesome day... aflrasslfassl." The cyan pony then faceplants the remainder of her burger and starts to snore loudly.
