Better beef up security. If Applejack gets second place again she may go insane and start bucking random ponies in the face.

[underp] So, who's going to be competing in the rodeo?? It ain't a round-up without rounders, after all. I'm gonna go ahead and say there's no entry fee (it's subsidized by Princess Celestia) and that when the ERC's held in a small town it's generally expected for a lot of locals to enter regardless of talent, so the bar shouldn't be set very high. I hope we get plenty of non-spoofed contestants, though spoofing an OC for an event is fine, too. Of course, there are other ways to participate in this event. Selling goods, spectating, helping friends train and rooting them on, dealing with out-of-towners...and there will be out of town business, yessiree! I encourage everypony to keep the upcoming rodeo in mind during the week to come. (This week's Wednesday Night Game will be something related to training.) So what exactly do folks do in an Equestria rodeo? We can assume there ain't no neck-stabbin' or uncomfortable harnesses to get folks bucking. Rather, the riding and roping events are one-on-one! I'm thinking you may want to find a teammate to enter with--one of you rides an opponent and the other is ridden by them and attempts to buck them off. Or we may make it an individual tournament dealie where each contestant may play both roles. Same for tie-down and breakaway roping. We'll play it by ear. Other events will include: * Hurdles * Barrel racing (two kinds) * Haybale tossing * Hot dog eating (no meat in these dogs, pardner!) * Anything awesome that anyone comes up with. I reckon we'll have a couple events each night from Saturday to Tuesday. We wizards'll do most of the spoofing, but driving the roleplay's largely up to you. So, in short, please post! Are you gonna compete, and if so, as whom? Is there enough potential for a team system to make it work? Should we actually keep track of scores and tournament brackets, or just fudge it in a big cloud of fun-having? What events would you like to see? Any drama we should look out for? (It goes without saying that Applejack's got something to prove this year.) Here's to seeing you at this weekend's Equestria Rodeo Competition!

THY PRINCESS OF THE NIGHT DECLARES HER CONFUSION. WHERE, IN THIS TOURNEY, ARE THE JOUSTS? ARE THE PEGASI WARRIORS NOT TO DISPLAY THEIR METTLE? IF THEE INTEND THE UNICORNS TO JOIN IN, WHY IS THERE NO WALL SUMO MATCH OR AUTOMATA JUDGING?

Rodeo Update: After the conclusion of the rodeo, all losers will be assembled in an arena to be built at the site of the old Palace. There, they shall battle for the honorable positions of second and third place, in the name of thy nocturnal majesty, her Royal Highness Princess Luna.
All honorable mentions shall thus, upon the end of the tournament, be promptly eaten by Ferrox.

I'm thinking we'll have two events each of the four nights, and whichever staffer is presiding each night can ask which events we should hold that night, so that players are less likely to miss the events they want to join in on.
We also may be adding an Icebox Haul or some other event in which large objects are pulled. By one's teeth.
Princess Luna? Sorry to say. Rodeodeo? Is Earth sport. If pegasus compete? No fly zone. If unicorn compete? No tinkle. Of magic. Is only tradition. u.u
