Hello, everypony!
I would like to announce that my fellow wizards and I have decided to open auditions for two featured characters (FCs) - Gilda and Scootaloo. If you are interested in auditioning for either or both of these parts and have not yet informed EconomistBrony (EB), please do so as soon as possible. If you have already informed him of your interest, you do not need to do so again.
To express your interest in the part, please contact EB in one of the following ways:
Page #mail him on the MUCK
MUCK mail him on the MUCK
Send an e-mail to his e-mail account at EconomistBrony[at]gmail.com
You must inform Economistbrony of your desire to audition before Thursday November 15, unless exceptional circumstances arise. If you do so after that date, it cannot be guaranteed that you will be able to audition.
All prospective candidates are encouraged to read and become familiar with the following forum posts:
MUCK Theme, “MUCK Canon”, and Featured Characters

Acceptable Use Policy

Two Overarching Rules
equestriamuck.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=generalpolicies&action=display&thread=29
The audition will consist of four primary parts:
First, the candidate is expected to provide a pre-written description of the character, in order to show familiarity with the character and a basic level of writing skill.
Second, the candidate will be asked several questions related to the aforementioned forum posts on FC responsibilities and MUCK policy. They will, of course, be allowed to access these same posts at the time. The point of these questions is not to see repetition, but a deep level of understanding of the MUCK's culture, its rules, and the responsibilities they have as an FC.
Third, the candidate will be asked to provide an example 'scene set' - a pose that establishes, from scratch, a scene that others could take part in on an ordinary day in a public area on the MUCK. Since FCs are expected to be catalysts of RP across the MUCK, we believe this is an important skill to have.
Fourth, the candidate will take part in a 'sample' RP with the wizstaff and select member(s) of the MUCK community. Namely, this will include character(s) currently in existence who are closely tied to the FC in question. The point of this RP is to show a passion for the part and a deep understanding of the character. In addition, we will want to see the 'chemistry' between the FC candidate and the characters they would interact with regularly.
We will be looking for a few specific things in the candidates. These are:
A strong potential for leadership, particularly in acting in a way that exemplifies the MUCK's (and, by nature, the TV show's) culture. This includes empathy for other players, an ability to help and inspire others, and generally embracing the elements of harmony, as noted in the second overarching rule.
A profound passion for the part, and a deep understanding of the character.
A minimum, basic, level of writing and pose ability, in order to communicate effectively with others and assist new players.
I close this announcement with a brief statement for all candidates to consider, which reflects what is stated in the above forum post about the responsibilities of FCs. FCs, on this MUCK, are not a reward for the best or most talented roleplayer. Anyone can spoof an FC at any time, so anyone, technically, can play one of the FCs. Instead, FCs are to be leaders and models of behavior for the other players on the MUCK. Players will see these familiar names (Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, etc.) and will, by nature, see them as heroes and ambassadors of the MUCK. As such, the players have a great responsibility to act in a way that is consistent with all of the elements of harmony, as embedded in the second overarching rule.
